Summer Game Fest Demo Event Coming July 21 to an Xbox One Near You

If you’ve been lucky enough to attend E3, PAX, gamescom or another show in the past you know that above-and-beyond the spectacle of these shows, one of the great joys of attending a marquee gaming event is being able to get your hands on games – lots of games.

Yup. It's essentially a digital version of E3 that doesn't require you to pay for a ticket, travel to a convention, wait in a line, or pay for a hotel.

Glad Microsoft is adapting to the constantly changing global circumstances.

I'm pretty sure pre-orders for the Series X will start on the day of the event. Hoping it's $399 and the rumored August launch is real.

The "rumored" August launch was first plan, not what is plausible now.

I think They're gonna wait till August for the price. I think they're gonna wait announce the S announcement and reveal the price of the X at the same time. Best case is 399$ that was a rumor but 499$ is what MS realistically wants to price it. The intensity and pressure rises with each passing day between Sony and MS regarding the price, it's never easy for either company. I think Sony and MS final stop will be in August at the end of the summer. There pre orders have to be out before fall so a price has to be dropped somewhere in August. There shareholders are probably constantly pressuring them.

Neat. I hope this evolves into a yearly thing for all companies. If you have an e3 demo let us all try with bright big “work in progress” letters across the screen. I’m pretty sure most of us are familiar with early access methods by now.

Between 75 and 100 games to demo closer to the date!! excellent idea, and a brilliant way for the xbox userbase to try out games they would not have otherwise looked at.

Their last event people complained about not seeing enough gameplay.

Now they get to play the games for themselves.
