It was a secret at the time, but there was another famous guitarist who put down some tracks for the 2004 classic. O'Donnell recently shared some improv session work from Mayer himself.
and GRAVITY.....trying to bring Chief down
I wouldn't mind seeing Chief floating in space and then hearing this song start up.
THE FEELS, halo has some of the greatest music
That main theme from Halo 2 was incredible... https://www.youtube.com/wat...
It USED to have the greatest music. Then Bungie ran Marty out. He is very talented.
Just amazing music! 343 should definitely at least consider hiring him in future Halo titles...he said he would be open to it but no ones asked him. I wonder if its because he has a reputation of being hard to work with. Still...cant deny that he is one of the best at what he does.
the Halo 2 reveal trailer still holds up to this day. That music and that chatter just make the whole thing work.
The song is called The Last Spartan, I still listen to it all the time at the gym. I remember waiting hours for that trailer to download over my 56k connection and then watching it at least 20 times. To this day my biggest gaming disappointment is finding out the actual game is nothing like that perfect trailer.
“Maybe you think Halo 2 is nostalgically over-cherished to a degree that ignores its lackluster weapon choice, truncated and claustrophobic level design, and narrative choices that are just too melodramatic at times...” Add the fact that you played half the game as the Arbiter and I couldn’t have said it better.
Marty O’Donnell put up another video to youtube with Steve Vai. It is my one of the great one https://m.youtube.com/watch...
