Inside the Mafia: Definitive Edition Remake: How Hangar 13 is Rebuilding It From the Ground Up

Hangar 13 president and chief creative officer Haden Blackman looks to the past of the Mafia series as it builds towards its future.

Even though they messed up the remaster of Mafia 2 and the "remaster" of Mafia 3, I'm really looking forward to this. I built a new gaming pc just to run this properly, all the way back in 2002. I just loved it. And now I get to see it reimagined. It has been one of my dream remakes for years, and now it's actually happening. Better not mess this one up too!

Shame, I'm a big fan of the Worms series, albeit not the latest entry.

Worms 2 was a blessing when I was on 56k dialup in 1999 for multiplayer gaming, it was almost the only game I could play smoothly online due to it being turn based. Not only that but it was a fun game to play with all the customisation options, online rope races etc..

Ysah battle royal was an odd entry. Like it was fun but not what we wanted lol

always sad to see job losses, hope they land on their feet

Can't freaking wait! I only have one tiny nitpick from everything I've seen so far. The ground clutter. There is a ton of pop-in going on when moving around with small rocks and foliage. I hope they can touch that up a bit before release. The game itself looks like everything I could have hoped for! I hope there are a ton of different cards to collect, for Queen's Blood.

So glad they're bringing a card game to a FF game again

Given it's an SSD game now I really hope that's cleaned up closer to release.

I think they've said the demo we're seeing is several months old. Hopefully it already is fixed but most open world games seem to have a problem with vegetation pop in or density

Man, this is one of those games where when I saw the gameplay, I could tell immediately they’re raising the bar. I can’t tell you how hyped I am for this! It’s not crazy far out, but the wait is still getting to me.

There’s also Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Persona 3 Remake to juggle before then. Dang, 2024 is a good time to be a JRPG fan.

And LAD Gaiden and I still haven't finished Sea of Stars 🤣

gold_drake1d 19h ago

oooo boy i cant wait, im already dodging news and gameplay like a pro haha

Trilithon1d 18h ago

this should be a good 75 hours of entertainment

Syphos1d 17h ago

I think that's a bit below the actual number, they said 100 hours (which is probably discounting how much side-stuff and mini-games you can get lost in) I'd expect with a normal-ish playthrough enjoying some of the side-content you'll easily top 100 hours, might be more like 140-150 hours tbh ^^.

I wonder how many hours completing everything fully will take, can't wait.

Trilithon1d ago

it was about 75 hours to complete the FF7 remake episode 1 for me. admittedly could have done more side quests. i really enjoyed it. FF15 was about 85 hours. just about to start playing FF16

looking forward to tomorrow where its 149 days away from launch
