You crawl on your hands and knees, bleeding out, towards Delta squadmate Dominic Santiago for him to revive you. Nothing happens. Screaming in agony and frustration doesn't break Dom's preoccupation with finding his wife. Not you lying helpless at his feet, not anything. You die.

Weird, in mean they had no studios to make anything really new so there's a part of me thats kinda glad they scrapped it. If they released this back then it would of gotten ridiculed for remakes and remastering stuff. Now they have new and interesting games so the collection is harmless.
Geez, Xbox, something like that I would’ve bought Day 1. Great business decisions over there.
10 years ago it wasn’t such a big deal. The games were only a few years old by that point
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition came out in 2015 (essentially 10 years ago), having a follow-up to that on the then next-gen console would’ve absolutely been welcomed, in my book.
I can only assume the the Gears of War Remaster flopped so they decided to scrap the other remakes?
Seems short sighted to me as I really enjoyed the 1st remaster. Regardless, I'll snap up some remakes to play on my PS5.

Agree 100% with this ranking. The campaign in Gears of War 2 is among the most fun campaigns ever made. It’s been downhill from there.
2 is still my favorite but 5 is also up there (for me). Then I'd say 1, 3, 4 and Judgement. Tactics isnt the same type of game, so it seems odd to rank it among TPS when its a strategy game. So I make that one all its own. Pretty fun game too.
The first is and has always been the best one imo - the story, the levels, the set pieces, the soundtrack - as close to perfect as a campaign can get.
I’d say the series had been on a continual downhill slide until 5.

Judgement
I love the series as a whole, but 4 was pretty by the numbers, and Judgement was just ok.
I played them all since picking up a Series X about 7 months ago. Personally, I don't think time has been kind to the earlier games and they feel very slow and repetitive to play. Whilst the newer games may be prettier, they stick with the original gameplay mechanics too much in my view so as a whole series of titles, I think they are pretty average games.
Not to say they weren't fun and I have a lot of nostalgia for 1 and 2, I just think there are far better action games out there.
What's the best Gears of War game for players? Where to start? This guide should easily lend a hand.
It's brilliant but personally liked part one more. It's the only one that had a near horror movie vibe to it in parts, the atmosphere was amazing.

Mad World was such a perfect song for that trailer. I loved part 1 too just because it was so fresh at the time. The series has been solid, but experiencing everything for the first time was pretty awesome.
Gears of War 2 has one of the greatest campaigns of all time. Carmine, all that juice, fighting inside a giant worm, and riding monsters.
Gears 1 and 2 will always be my favorite Gears titles. The scene where Dom find his wife and then has to shoot her was an epic scene.
I always found that scene laughably bad myself. Fantastic game though.
1 will always be my favourite. Most were great with the exception of 4 being okay and judgement being terrible.
They still have the most satisfying headshots from any multiplayer game around.

There is a rumored Marcus Fenix collection (Gears 2 & 3 remake) in the works at the Coalition. Hopefully, it’s true, but I doubt it.
For me you can't beat gears 1 the original was so fresh and revolutionary at the time.

this is a real person review. He seems to not be paid by anybody. Everything he talked about was from really playing the game. i have experienced alot and more of what he is saying about gears2. i had Dom force mount a four foot high wall and get stuck there. i was forced on the sp mission to restart the mission because of his actions. a couple of times he would pop up behind me at a strange angle and we both were stuck in a glitch moment. Gears2 has every flaws of the last game and more. the game is still tearing into focus..WTF they worked on this game for how long...?? over 2years and the same flaw from the last game appears. This game is broke or the engine it rides on is.. I will not be buying this game again!! i will rent to own. Vck the reviews site. (1up,ign,gamespot,ect..) This is not acceptable!!! Epic are lazy flat out. The boss fights are stolen and port over badly into gears2. i can not even play online because of this developmental mess.. someone over at Epic should be fired!!! Mark Rein get the vckout of your lamborginee and "delegate a reinvestment of procedure" within your company. Your game Fails big time!!! LAZY LAZY @ss game. Quite coping everything and do something original and you will be fine....

Gears of War 2 didnt bring any innovation or technical break threw, its just the same as gears of war 1 with very small improvements that took them 2 years to make!
any way i might download the cracked and better version of Gears of war 2 on PC sometime next year, my pc could handle gears 2 so certainly will handle gears 2!! and whats the point to spend money on it now?? certainly its not the best shoot em up game this year, certainly there is many better shoot em up games then gears of war 2 this winter that managed to make break threw in the technical, online and scale.... ahhm.."resistance 2"... ahhhm 25GB vs 8GB
