We’re a few months away from the launch of Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X. As is the case with any new console generation, there’s a lot of excitement around the new machines, but their arrival doesn’t mean your current devices will immediately become obsolete. Plenty of games will continue to drop for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and you’ll be able to keep playing them for years to come if you treat your console well.
Yes, it is once again tail time, thanks to Limited Run Games.
For new players trying out Fallout 4, there are a few actions that gamers should avoid making as they journey with the Sole Survivor.
A few years ago, Dredge surprised many with its blend of fishing mechanics and Lovecraftian horror, and fans might want to keep an eye on Out Fishing.
First and last rule:
Don't sell them!
Proper maintenance just like any other machine I pop mine apart every other month for a cleaning swapped out the shitty factory thermal paste. Cleaned the laser lense with ipa and a cotton swab lube the laser tracks with lithium grease and a cotton swab. I do that to current and last gen consoles. I recently bought an og Xbox from Ebay popped it apart cleaned the inside from the ground up removed the clock capacitor so it doesn't leak and ruin the board swapped out thermal paste cleaned the laser lense added a new disc drive belt so the disc drive opens bang done.
Maintenance is one thing but its also how you treat the console if it looks like a piece of shit it probably plays like a piece of shit. I worked at a pawn shop had to turn a guy away because his XB360 looked like shit a dog chewed on the cables the thing was dirty and the vents had enough dog fur to make another dog plus it stunk not of cigarettes or pot smelt like a dead body. Surprised the damn thing read a disc and played a game even more surprised the thing never RROD when turned on.
Buy a Xbox!
Changing thermal paste, I do that on my laptop also...every 2-3 years.
Edit: also when the prices go down, buy an ssd.
I tried to fix two x1 controllers but failed, it just looked easier on yt and I’m inexperienced. I’ve built several cpu systems and that was easy but anything with soldering and I’m inexperienced. I failed at replacing a tv chip, it was so small but on yt looked much bigger and easier.
Now my x1x hdmi broke in less than 2 years and it’s $250 to send to MS. I’m contemplating spending the time and money to figure it out but my confidence is low that I’ll succeed.
Another factor is being in the mood to repair or build systems. There are times I’m inpatient and just want to play games and not waste time repairing and sorting drivers etc. Other times I find myself sucked down a rabbit hole for hours getting an old game to work and get a rush in figuring it out.
