Good point. SE is looking for global sales. Outside of Japan in North America, MS has the larger install base and that equates to FFXIII to come to the 360. While the 360 has such a small install base in Jpaan that there's no point in a 360 version of FFXIII. Good call dude.

at a higher price this year, the 360 would be loosing by a wider margin than the 360 is currently leading, for the year of 2008 had it not been for its price cut.

What he is saying is 100% true. There is no excuse for terrible looking 360 games when the excuse for PS3 texture shortcomings is not understanding the software, and the arguments lead to gameplay. When the system was touted to have better graphics. Its literally like clockwork, whenever any 360-avid gets on the subject of graphics.. it turns into a conversation about gameplay. Good gameplay for GAMES is inherent. The most important thing about games, is the gameplay. But people try to have their cake and eat it too. When the best looking game on the 360 is an unreal engine product, I'm sorry. Thats where it ends. Yea, it looks great. But nothing in the face of Uncharted/MGS4/Gt5p etc. And the basic idea that the ps3 has several graphical heavy hitters, while the 360 has 1, also says something about it.

There are double standards, its just fun to watch people try to pretend there aren't. 360-fans shouldn't even bring up graphics. Because they second they do, it devolves quickly into gameplay-lol-. Well, thankfully on the ps3 you get both.

You may not realize this but console sales affect publisher investments, exclusives, and cross platform moves in a HUGE way. If the 360 didn't get out of the gate first and gain ground in sales do you think it would have gotten any form of FF13? No. If the PS3 didn't show itself and unstoppable force despite the late start do you think it would have gotten Bioshock?

Therefore buyers should invest not just based on the here and now but the next year, and the next year as well.

Sales actually affect the game industry. Yes, there is a lot of sarcasm in this post as anyone that games should be aware of such matters.

but I don't agree completely. Sales of a console don't affect the exclusives nearly as much as the money a company like MS or Sony is willing to pay for that exclusivity. Sure, maybe sales affect certain things but in all reality, no one is going to completely dominate this generation of consoles. Especially because of exclusives. Each company has too much money to throw around for that to happen. Sure the Wii is outselling everything while MS and Sony fight for spot number 2, but no one will run away with it. (proven by the Wii winning even though it has no big time exclusives other than Zelda and Mario)

In the same sense, it won't affect cross-platform moves either. Going cross-platform is just a smart move. You can potentially sell twice as many copies. And if no one is holding you back from doing it, there's no reason not to. (other than money or just plain history with a particular console)

These sales numbers just bring out the morons who think it means their system is going to dominate. I think our arguments put together probably hit the nail on the head. It's good to see someone can have good arguments though. Bubbles for that, even though we disagree a bit.
