I just got to the “green basement” last night and the game ramped up exponentially after that and I’m enjoying it a lot. The start is very, very slow and I was kinda bummed but last night I had a great time. I’m looking forward to playing more.

Its a 30 hour linear campaign. It needs the time for character development

I absolutely love the game. I'm halfway through Abbie's campaign and I must say while I don't necessarily "like" the character, (we aren't exactly meant to), the game is impressive in how it tells the story of the two and allows you to draw your own conclusions. I like how even though they killed Joel, it makes you reflect on your own decisions. Joel killed someone to save ellie, but that someone wasn't just a someone, it was an actual human being. So much killing is being done in video games, but its never explored who those people were. In the first last of us the guy was just a random NPC, in part 2 he was someone's father. Just like every other npc you kill in every other game, someone cares about them. This explores that. In the end Joel lost his life in his effort to save Ellie, it just happened 4 years later. A noble death indeed.
