Infinity Ward Posts Tutorial on How to Reduce Modern Warfare File Size on PS4

Infinity Ward has posted a reduce Modern Warfare file size tutorial for the PS4 on the game's splash screen itself! This is the first game (from what we know) that allows this feature on the PS4.

How about allowing the deletion of Warzone instead of just DLC packs?

excaliburps1796d ago

Yep. I hear ya. Nope, you can't since IW seems to be pushing Warzone hard.

DG901796d ago

Probably the most played mode rigjt now thats why. Plus all them microtransactions.

Nitrowolf21796d ago

Yeah I would be ok with that. whatever extra data it brought over

NVMGaiden1796d ago (Edited 1796d ago )

Does Playstation have features like Xbox and Steam where you can uninstall portions of certain games? I feel like this should be industry-standard since Activision has been investigated over game file sizes?

Nitrowolf21796d ago (Edited 1796d ago )

No but Activision added it in via their in game options for ps4

I only was able to remove 30gb because spec ops. Can't remove warzone, or even the campaign

amazinglover1796d ago

I have a feeling like it or not Warzone is going to be apart of every COD going forward.

excaliburps1796d ago

I think it'll be their official BR mode going forward. I don't see them pushing a new one every year.

Zjet1796d ago

I agree, I love Call of Duty, play the campaigns every year and I LOVE the offline bots. Warzone takes up a damn big chunk and Spec Ops was a total waste of time for offline play...no split-screen and 90% of Spec Ops content is online only.

Warzone blood money is dope!!

Any clue on this for PC? I say they sell the game bundled with an HDD or adequate SSD. That would square us up! Or how bout just not forcing people to download huge maps they’re not using AT ALL(war zone)...that would work just fine too.

jambola1796d ago

a tutorial on how to design the game better so they can do it?

AK911796d ago

Just allow players to delete Warzone a lot of people don’t care about it.

phoenixwing1796d ago

I figured out how to free up space . I deleted the whole thing. My internet is too slow to keep dl all their crap

Will be interesting to see what sort of numbers GP users draw in come tomorrow. It is believed that this is one many have been waiting for.

Darth,

That is not accurate; this game is old, and most people who want it have already bought it. You might get a small number of subs, but we will mostly see a good influx of players(not new subs) from people with Game Pass who will try it, which is what happened with D4.

CoD: BO 6 will be the test for actual sub numbers.

darthv72299d ago

That's fair... seeing as many have been saying they want CoD in GP. My comment was more of , now that its here... what can it do. Im sure there will be other titles in the franchise that will either entice or turn off different users.

No one's buying a console and signing up for a monthly bill just to get this game to avoid buying it. That's ridiculous. Besides everyone bagged the crap out of this on release for the 4 hour campaign.

andy85299d ago

Sweet. Never got round to it on release. I'll give the campaign a go

Severly underrated game. Big improvement over 2.

Why MW 2019 is still the best looking Call of Duty to date

MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.

MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.

That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.

I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.
