Technically yes. Rockstar made a big song and dance that GTAO was given away for free for all GTA5 players.

I still don't understand how people play GTAO though. There's way to much loading and waiting around to do anything. The best aspect of it are the races for me.

Shame its only free for a few months so in othet words if u dont buy a console within first few months gopd luck getting gta online for free, imagine paying for gta 5 3 times, last gen, this gen and another gen rockstar know how to milk a game of money

Wouldn't you if it's still a top 5/10 seller worldwide every year? It has sold over 130 million copies now and is still continuing to sell at an extraordinary rate. By the time GTA 6 is out, 5 will probably have sold 160/70/80mn copies which is mindboggling.

Considering Sony has literally no multiplayer franchises of its own to depend on, this was a good move. Xbox is the better multiplayer console as always, PS is the better single player console as always. Bring on the blind disagreements from people uncomfortable with the truth.

100% agree. I’m an Xbox guy but I own all consoles and even I know that when it comes to single player games PS is the way to go but when it comes to online games MS wins hands down. This is why it’s better to be a multi console owner instead of a drone to one.

Really? C'mon. I fly the PlayStation flag as high as anyone cos it's awesome but there's no way GTA 5 is factoring In to my decision for which console I'm getting. I hate online gaming. If they weren't taking billions still from this ancient game they would have announced GTA 6 instead of GTA 5. You talk about lazy devs. Why make a new game when you can milk an old one.

The game is ancient, and the longer ago you first played it the older it seems, but there are loads of young people who haven't played it yet and will be all over it on PS5.

Their insistence on carrying on with the same map makes me wonder if the plan is to keep it on as part of the online map of GTA6 and add to it.

I'll play it again. But I really hope they improve the loading times. I play it on pc still even with it being installed on a nvme m.2 SSD it's painfully slow loading.

Last night it took me and 3 friends 30 minutes so get in the same lobby as the loading the game up landing into a session. Then having to leave the session to join a friend's session to close to 30 minutes.

Well I'll just have to wait for the Series X edition I got the game free when I bought my XB1 I don't want to have to start from ground zero again. Unless Rockstar has away to transfer your character that would be the only way I would grab GTA V on PS5. Even if Rockstar had that option I own everything ran all the heists own all the businesses and I am burnt out on the game. I only turn the game on just to see what the free car is at the casino spin the wheel a few times try and win the car after that I turn the game off.

The only reason I stopped playing GTA online with friends is because of those dreadful loading times (loading into a game/map/etc). If there's virtually no loading time or shortened loading time then I'd play again

I couldn’t care less at this point. This game will be moving to it’s 3rd console generation. I’m more then done with it at this point.

I’m excited to get my hands on the PS5 day one. But this game is certainly not why!
