WOW omg, this really is the real deal. I feel like shedding a tear.

When I bought Demon's Souls on PS3, I had never heard a single thing about it. I just thought it was an RPG set in Medieval times lol. What continued was the best gaming experience I've ever had. It blew my mind. It made me think of gaming in a whole different way.

I remember near the start of the game I took out the disc and swore I would never play the game again because it was too damned hard, I'm glad my gaming-ego forced me to push through. I will never forget the experience. I remember texting my friend and saying exactly this, "This is the greatest game I've ever played in my whole entire life". Nothing has changed.

I did the same at first. Played it, said not for me and then a week later went back and ended up beating it a few more weeks later.

I heard a lot of chatter about this game back in the day and had to try it. It had that magic that souls borne is known for. One of the games of the gen for ps3 and we are finally getting the remaster which looks fantastic. If they do a 60 fps mode (almost guaranteed) this one shall be mine.

sometimes less is more.... overgraphical detailing is not always good ,REmake looks a lot like a cheap WOW clone ....i like original better with its gritty remote , empty and scary spaces ...filled with atmosphere and fear (also original looks a bit more realistic ...if you see the interior of a real castle you ill understand)

You would say the opposite if the new one was gritty and the original were colorful. Cool down.

If you look at the screenshot comparisons then you will see that the remake isn't actually that much more colorful. It has far more detail and objects to fill the space. It's just as dark, dven darker in some shots, it's just as eerie, and some look even more adorned by fog and luminance. It's just the trailer and much more technical skill of the artists to deliver on accuracy. Dark Souls had much more color to it because tbey had developed their skills and had the budget to spend time on it.

Uh. No it doesn't. The textures and designs were extremely simple and not alike the variation in architectural difficulties back then. There are a lot of things that time, budget, and hardware restraints held back in terms of reaching detail and accuracy of the real thing. And, on top of that, this is a fantasy game. There are monsters, phenomenon, themes, and obvious reasons why the structures would be falling apart and unkempt. I think what's really exciting is that the entire cobble walkway is actually physically modeled and not a flat texture with the illusion of 3D.

It was the only game I ever imported because originally there were no plans to release the game in Europe (blasphemy) and I felt like I hit jackpot because it ended up being my favorite 7th gen game alongside Dark Souls. To me Demon's Souls is one of the most important games ever made not just because of it's quality but also because of its legacy in the video game industry.

I remember when my friend call me on the phone, telling me to get Demon Souls which was completely not on my radar at all! When he told me that there is an online mode where you can invade player's playthrough, going through the story, I said to myself, "Wow...Let me give this one a try." I rented this game on Gamefly and Man I was hooked! It was unlike any game I ever played before! Demon Souls end up being one of my top 5 games on PS3, next to Last of Us, God Of War 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Uncharted 2! Everytime I see my friend I thank him for telling me about Demon Souls lol!!!

I am so glad Demon Souls is being remade for PS5! I really hope that the developers will open up areas we couldn't explore on the PS3 version, due to limitations. The area I am talking about is the world of the Giants. I can't wait to see the world tendency system and how the game tortures you for dying alot lol!!! I am that dude that will invade your game without you knowing lol!!! I never forget when a player was ambushed by skeleton enemies in the sky area, I invaded his game as a Pyromancer. I went up close to the ambush an lay down a ground fire attack and that player went flying down to his death lol!!! "You Died"

The Player message my PSN name, "Really? I was trying to beat that level man." I responded back, "Sorry lol I was having some fun." Other times I help people in coop and even request help from other players too. Yes a very fun game to play. Praise The Sun Once Again!

It does look amazing. I believe I bought, sold, and re-bought this game at least 3 times before I finally made it through. To this day it is still one of the platinum trophies I'm proudest of.

I bought it, died about 909000 times in 6 hours and then sold it on Kijiji for more than I payed for it (this was the first run, when it was rare). Then I laughed at all the idiots who played Dark Souls games for years.

Until I was out sick after surgery and picked up Bloodborne... then I too decended into the maddness that is the Souls genre. They are truly awesome games. I can't believe I never gave Demons Souls more of a chance back in the day.

I look forward to giving the remake the proper play through it deserves and pray we get a Bloodborne 2 or even a 4k/60 version for the PS5.

I am not going to lie. I think I died 300 times on the first level alone. Every time I get past a previous point i died at made me feel really good. No doubt I think I put in close to 1000hrs on DS. Worth every sec.

I admit I gave up on it. I did play the Dark Souls games and then Bloodborne though. Got multiple platinums even. It's amazing to see the difference in these 2. Going from Demon's Souls to Dark Souls I didn't really notice much of a difference. I know Bloodborne is a good looking game but just thinking about it it doesn't seem like much different from Dark Souls graphically. I mean I guess it is but I haven't played those in awhile. This remake is Day 1 for sure

Bluepoint will outdo themselves with this remake I think. It was my favourite game at the time. I think it was Halloween 2009 when I bought and the world tendency changed and the game became even more difficult! The online coop was so good and the characters were fascinating.

Loved this game and the remake looks amazing. I'm an Xbox fan, but I bought a PS4 for bloodborne. Now I need to buy a PS5 as well as an Xbox series X so I can play the Demon souls remake. Oh well looks like I'll be forking out about a £1000 this Christmas.

No they didn't the remake is losing it's dark atmosphere and the Vanguard &
Flamelurker design from the Remake looks like it's taken from Doom or diablo , Bluepoint can't reach fromsoftware vision in this game but they have time and I hope they fix this and bring back the dark atmosphere and redesign the bosses faces & bodies before they release the game

It looks gorgeous I love demon souls but what pissed me off was when they said you can select from frame rate or graphical fidelity mode.why the hell do I still have to select that with a brand new console? I'm doing that now on the pro and the Xbox X. This is what I'm talking about. It's unacceptable to have to select a mode it should be able to do both It's a brand new console for God's sakes. The PS5 should have been stronger. You should not be having to sacrifice frame rate for graphics on a new console that's complete BS.

Um ya do you even know what you are saying? These consoles are not supercomputers. You might as well say you expect photo-realism and 240fps because its next gen...that's not how it works.

You wont have 60fps without downgrades to other aspects of any game, whether they are mentioned or not.
Just as you leave 60fps behind at a point with fidelity and resolution.
Whatever the max is for any game, it could have been different had the dev decided to focus on fps or res.

my pro is already doing this like I said prior, for a brand new console it should not have to do that. Don't defend them just because it's Sony. it should be 4K native 60 frames per second without having to downgrade or sacrifice anything It's a brand new console

You simply don't know what you are talking about... You want unlimited power. Everything has a limitation. You just don't want the limitation mentioned. If it was 4k60 then the fidelity you were first made aware of would be lower.

You dont just arbitrarily get to decide what a console generation should be capable of in each category.

Halo Infinite could look photo-realistic with all sorts of true-to-life destruction...but it wont because there isn't enough power to do that and maintain 4k60.

There is always a limit or did you expect the ps3 to do ps5 graphics?

You're making excuses The whole point of the new consoles is 4K 60 frames per second but that's still not happening with PS5. we were literally almost there with the pro and the Xbox X so for a whole new console to come out and still not be able to deliver that that's a problem

I'm gonna feel real bad for the people who never played Demon's Souls but are talking up how amazing they are at Dark Souls 1-3. They haven't even felt difficulty, are Souls WAS easy mode compared to Demon's Souls!

This remake looks incredible. Bluepoint has done true due diligence. It'll be phenomenal to revisit this game without the technical hitches of The Valley of Defilement on PS3. Tower of Latria was one hell of a game world that nothing in the series has been able replicate, at least for me.

Oddly though... the absence of color in the original feels more appropriate to the hopelessness of that world. The color in the remake looks great, the original vision just seems more fitting.

They destroyed the game's atmosphere and their design change for Flamelurker is atrocious. They turned the game from fantastic to generic trash.

Yeah, the original Flamelurker has a humanoid head and the new is more demon defined, this changes how you look at him.

Listen, I understand how the original players feels toward any change of their favorite games but let us be realistic that a 1:1 remake is hard to follow, the devs will want some creative freedom to impart their own vision. I say they are doing a great job so let them have it. the original game still exist anyway.

What I see here are them changing the game from dark moody fantasy game to a colorful less moody generic fantasy game with generic fantasy designs. Flamelurker looked unique, now he looks like a generic mobile game demon.

They took Demon's Souls and ripped it out of its soul.

I tried to play this game over and over and always got my ass beat. LOL. Never got too far into it. After seeing the remake, I'll try again. Something about the controls I hated back then, maybe a bit too sluggish? If the controls feel just a little snappier, I'll probably do better this time around? I'm getting this day 1 though.
