Nier: Automata is the least rpg on this list but a great game none the less. These are some of the best of all time. Good list. Agreed with the Mass Effect opinion. All 3 Mass Effects were so well done, fighting each other.
List is automatically invalid if it doesn't include Yakuza 0.
Great article! Where is Dragon quest 11?
Divinity OS is one of those games that is very well regarded but whenever I watch a review or gameplay it doesn't look like enjoyable. It's one of those that's more fun to play than it is to watch, right? Or should I not bother if what I've seen doesn't interest me beyond liking well made RPGs.
I have played the first one and it is definitely not a fun game. I didn't like it at all. I asked my friends and they didn't like it either. we all love RPGs but this one did not hit the spot
Like you, I love RPGs. Like you, I didn't care for the first game, even with 3 tries. BUT the second game, that one I love. The story and writing are still meh, but the gameplay and world are much more enjoyable. It feels more focused, better balanced and cohesive and rarely a slog (there is one location that can). Even if you didn't like the first game, give Divinity OS2 a try. I was amazed how much I enjoyed it.
Persona 5, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 2, Dying Light, The Outer Worlds, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Fallout 4 to name a few
All the Xenoblade games.
