How I’ve Fixed My Backlog Problem

After a long hard day of working from home, I finally have the chance to come home and play games. The problem is I have way to much to play and would rather buy new games then finish old ones. So I devised a solution...

Agreed with a lot of your feelings on facing a backlog. I am happy to dig into any game at any time, but for me it's a matter of finding the time to get into a game. I have been able to play a little more than usual lately with the current pandemic situation and am happily chipping away at the backlog.

I have wasted so much money on new games that by the time I get to them they are on sale.

Currently playing DQ11:S, Civ 6, Breath of the Wild, and Wolfenstein 2 (second playthrough on a higher difficulty). My thing is that I tend to buy games that take a long time to complete so I feel like I get my money's worth...then I end up with a huge backlog.

I'm having fun though. I just need to stop buying more games for the time being....AFTER I get Mortal Kombat: Aftermath Kollection in June :)

Regarding breath of the wild, I suggest jumping into the DLC as soon as you cop the master sword.

Working on the Master Sword now :)
I'll look into the DLC!

Having Gamepass is amazing but it's rather daunting to be honest. Dishonored 2 has been sitting on my hdd silently judging me as day after day I scroll past it to start my 300th session of Sea of Thieves.

Don't you judge me either! There's just something about a simple pick up and play games that keeps me coming back. I keep telling myself that should start more complex games but it's difficult to get into that.

Lockdown has helped a bit though.

If you download a game on game pass and then they remove it from the service, can you still play it off your hard drive even though it's no longer available on game pass?

@rockwhynot

No you can not. Happened to me with a recent game, tried to load it up and it just would show error then found they had taken it off the catalog. Forgot which game it was lol no big deal

TommyVercetti881847d ago

If you own the game then yes.

AuraAbjure1846d ago

It makes sense it would not work.

esemce1846d ago

No you will have to buy it then, Best to find out when games are leaving and finish them before they do.

I've learned that games can only get cheaper with time and to only focus on what I aim to finish. I can only play one game at a time, so wishlist what I'm interested in, wait for it to go on sale, and play it after I'm finished with what I'm currently playing. It's a shame it took me to own 10k+ games to learn this. It is cool to be able to share them all with my kids though, as long as someone is enjoying them.

With this one they'll lose Silent Hill essence and make this a Fatal Frame game.

Not a fan of this direction.

Furesis4h ago

They really took that literally huh

gold_drake1h ago

what's that even mean.

nonenof the silent hill games have been particularly "japanese horror inspired"

fatal frame and Siren are absolutely that.
