Over the course of this nearly 25-minute episode, Neil Druckmann, Director of The Last of Us Part II, will provide an extensive look at the gameplay, threats, and world of the game ahead of its release on 19th June on PS4. If you really like stealth games definitely play the first. I just beat it a few weeks ago to prepare for this game and it was a struggle to get through. Gameplay is very dated and drags alot with the walking sequences. It may be a better experience to watch a "movie" of it on yt. It's very easy though and you can beat it in 9 hours on the first play through. I lost out by not playing it when it came out so whatever you do, do it before the game is released so you can get the fresh experience.

It's pretty, the graphics are top notch, the animations are smooth and it's the most impressive Technical looking game I've seen. However if those spoilers are true and the WAY they execute them is poor story/writing wise like many people have said, then I'm sorry but it's not going to make a difference when playing. I loved the first game because of the well written story and characters they made people fall in love with one game, if they do anything to ruin the legacy of the first game when they could have left it alone or ruin the characters they built up then that's what matters to me, it's NaughtyDogs bread and butter.

I just had it spoilt for me this morning...yeah...it got me, I feel p***** but I'll tell you something as a huge fan of ND and the first Last of Us.

The outrage, the reason why people are p***** off....I get it now, I really do sadly, it can never be explained in a none spoiler context but while some trolls or fanboys will use this to shit on the game, NaughtyDog and the PS4 in general even if they don't like the games in general, you can't write everyone of them off like that, this could hurt Last of Us fans the way you look or experience it.

I'll play it, I'll go into it with an open mind BECAUSE I still can't believe the leaks...it's that stupid, it's like shooting themselves in the foot for the shock value. There must be something more to the entire thing.

I'm a big ND fan & will definitely buy it day one. I'll play through the story to its conclusion & make my own judgment. However the controversy isn't about the story being cringey or hokey. This is ND using misleading marketing tactics.

Remember the controversy surrounding MGS2 in the past? With Kojima using bait & switch. Trailers & gameplay shows Snake as protagonist. But an unknown character who's not in the first game (Raiden) suddenly appear out of nowhere & becomes the main playable character in the game. Raiden is a character nobody is interested in or asking for in the highly anticipated sequel.

Although MGS2 turn out to be a great game, it still receive negative feedback & backlash from fans. TLOU 2 will be facing a similar situation, except much worse.

MGS2 controversy is nothing compared to this. You'll know & understand what I'm talking about once you complete TLOU 2 in its entirety and once you're ready to discuss plot points.

Yes Raiden is a cool badass cyborg in MGS4, but he isn't playable at all in that game. Solid Snake return as the main protagonist in MGS4.

You do know that Raiden got his very own spinoff in Metal Gear Rising, right? Happens right after MGS4.

It all goes to show a franchise can be bigger than just one character. Proved it with Metal Gear where you play as Solid Snake, Big Boss, Venom Snake, Raiden.

Resident Evil does it too. Chris, Leon, Claire, Jill, Carlos, Ada, Sheva, Jake, Ethan. TLOU will probably follow suit after Joel and Ellie. Isn’t Joel in his 50s by now?

After MGS2 & hearing fans feedback that majority of fans prefer Snake as protagonist & not interested in playing as Raiden at all, he agree to that request. He bring back Raiden in MGS4 but only as a supporting character that's not playable. MGS2 is the first & last Kojima game to ever involve a playable Raiden.

Metal Gear Rising isn't made by Kojima. It's developed by Platinum Games & Konami. Although canon, it's not MGS. It's MGR (Although he's attached to the project initially, but he cancel & go on to do other games instead).

After MGS2 controversy, he only bring back Snake as playable character. No more Raiden as protagonist.

I didn't watch most of the gameplay, but skipped to the very end of it. At 22:43, just look at the animation/acting of the other woman's face as she turns and comes more in to focus. That's a level of detail very rarely seen in games.

One thing you can count on from ND, is that they will always put in levels of detail that haven't been done in games before. Sometimes really subtle, sometimes rather pronounced. But they do take a lot of time to push past the norm.

The gameplay looks top notch and as I said as long as the story has context - it'll be fine.

If not - missed opportunity by ND and Sony to solidify a classic series.

In a weird way I felt like the original TLOU had a very predictable story. I could tell what was going to happen just by watching all the previews leading up to release. And I ended up being correct in how the plot turned out. But what I had no way of knowing was how powerful the performances and events were. And it sounds cheesy but the story of TLOU is not just the ending it's the journey the whole way through. Same with Heavy Rain. That one I actually got spoiled on and it was by some doosh here on N4G. But the same thing happened. I knew the surprise ending but I was in no way prepared for its great gameplay and very good performances.

So with TLOU 2 if you let the spoilers get to you then you may be missing out on a remarkable experience.

I started TLOU on normal difficulty and played it multiple times (once through each difficulty) and man oh man the higher difficulties make the game a whole different experience playing through it. I think for TLOU2 I'm going to start on hard first instead of normal because I feel like you miss out on such an experience playing below hard.

I generally find game play videos boring. Doesn't matter the game. Anything more than 5, 10 at the most, and I'm ready for it to be over.

I watched this one though, and could relate well enough given that I've played the first. I appreciate the improvements, and of course the graphics were what I'd expect from ND.

But, yes, to me, it was boring, but not because the game looked boring, or I thought it was a bad showing of the game. But, just because watching game play is usually just boring to me. There were some moments however which really impressed me, and a few that made me excited about playing the game soon.

From a technical standpoint, the graphics of TLOU 2 is by far the best. It's the best looking game on PS4 I've seen. Just like TLOU holds the graphics crown for PS3.

Naughty Dog is Sony's best first party developer.

You've got a big shock coming if you think next gen graphics are going to have a massive leap this fall that will make this incredible looking game look like crap. The first Last of Us came out June of 2013, months before the PS4 in November and much like TLOUp2 it had jaws dropping from how stunning it looked on PS3. This and Ghost of Tsushima are the swan songs for PS4, stunning gorgeous games that are going to play smooth, like cutting soft butter.

Raised to what exactly? We haven't seen any next gen games yet that look this good. Even the one's shown that are solely for next gen haven't looked this good. Higher resolution, and in-game CGI isn't game play, nor is scaling up current gen games to next gen levels setting any bars.

Just play the game. ND games are good for more than their graphical achievements, and I'd hope that's not all you care about when you choose what game to play.

I won't spoil it for you so will try to be as general as possible with my reasoning.
Last of Us ended perfectly, and there is no need to revisit these characters. I Don't want a last of Us 2 for the same reason I wouldn't want a Princess Bride 2. Do I really want to see the revenge story of prince Humperdinck flailing Andre the Giant alive? NO. And I also don't want to see these characters suffer, when their story ended perfectly. You can't improve it, only diminish the effect of the first game.
Also "none of them are real" argument. I am free to dislike the butchering of ALIENS, TERMINATOR, Star Wars, Westworld, Scream, Xmen, DCEU, and hundreds of other examples. I am choosing to not support the game, and vote with my wallet, you're free to consume.

Just making sure you know that the way The Last of Us 1 ended was Joel damning the human race by saving Ellie thus destroying any chance of a cure being synthesized. You could even kill the unarmed doctors at the end. That alone should’ve set the tone on all future games considering Joel isn’t the hero you thought he was.

The type of people who are complaining about the leaks are the same type of person who watched Fight Club and though Tyler Durden was the protagonist or watched Joker and thought he was a tragic hero.

Agggghhhhhhh, damn it. I was going to hold off buying this game and treat myself when I but the ps5 at the end of the year and make this the 1st game I play on next gen. I even canceled my pre-order of this just last weekend to save for the ps5 instead. After seeing this video this decision to hold off has and will be one of the hardest things to do.. I don't know I can wait now. This is looking phenomenal, it truly is. he depth, sound, violence, action etc are all top notch. Well done ND, you have me hook line and sinker now.

GPU compute. Same speed of the processor, but GPU's are much more adept at processing the kind of data that games typically use to run their game loop.

Ellie is a straight up killer! "Yeah, you remember me"! She's confident to the point of cockiness. As far as the leaks go (I have not seen them) i believe the experience and journey would still be worth it. I just dont see Naughty Dog putting out something that is not top notch quality. They KNOW how revered this game and these characters are. I for one cant wait to jump back into this world that Naughty Dog has created!

Im excited for it, the only disappointing thing is that when the enemies are farther away their animation framerate gets dropped to probably half and it looks weird, similar to the resident evik remakes on pc. It takes me out of it, this will probably be fixed on.the ps5 version but.I dont know that I can go that long without playing it and not have it spoiled one way or another.
