Grinding? Grinding text? Loading screens?

sourOG1422d ago

There have been a few games I stopped playing because of load times lol. Not so much these days but they still irritate me sometimes. Loading has gotten MUCH better and I’m glad it’s being severely cut down even more. Such a great feature of next gen and can’t wait to see the results of such a freeing and creative feature. No more elevator rides and cleverly hidden loading zones turned into forced plot points.

SyntheticForm1422d ago (Edited 1422d ago )

So far this gen, the game with the longest load time (that I played) was Metro Exodus. You could seriously take a small nap while it loads.

sushimama1422d ago

LOL what about Assassin's Creed Odyssey? Geez there are so many. The PS5's SSD is extremely exciting. Load times are something that bother the crap out of me these days. I'm so excited about having zero load times in a game like Monster Hunter World for example. Hopefully Capcom will make a next-gem patch.

gold_drake1421d ago

ps3 Bayonetta before the patch. haha. that was.. ALOT. but ive never stopped a videogame because of loading times. thats ridiculous

Dwarrior1422d ago (Edited 1422d ago )

I couldn't get through P5. I put 60 hours into it, drifted away from it, and restarted it months later, and just could not stay interested. And I really loved 3 and 4. :/

franwex1422d ago

Same thing with p3 with me. I finished p5

Teflon021422d ago

I think the one thing they need to be perfect is one seemless world without loading unless you're going into another world. Wish all the areas from school to home can actually be traveled on foot without loads. Would be cool too if say, because you can take the train in p5. You can walk it home instead if you want even though it's a bit longer. But you'd get stat boosts or something for it.

Being made for the PS3 and lazily ported over to the PS4 didn't do the game any favors was clearly lacking in the graphics department and ran like crap. I hope P6 is made for the ground up for PS5.

gold_drake1421d ago

i wouldnt say.. the graphics per se, but definitely the sharpness of the whole thing. you could tell it was a port from the ps3

The RGB color is a bit much, but that would be brilliantly subtle.

Sea of stars while seeming pretty good so far doesn't belong in the top rpg discussion. There's way better ones. I'd tell them to play star ocean 2. One of the best non turn based rpgs ever. It has everything.

raWfodog121d ago

And if the list is limited to just turn-based RPGs, I can think of better ones to add to this list. You have the Dragon Quest series, the Trails series…Persona 5 Royale is on the list but why limit it to just that one? P3 and P4 were great as well.

Zenzuu122d ago (Edited 122d ago )

The Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia, or the Shadow Hearts games has decent enjoyable turn based combat system.
