Cant believe they are still throwing things at this game, it has had an amazing run and the support has been fantastic, on one hand I would love to continue this on the ps5 but on the other I want a proper gt7 with my old features back such as the engine parts etc I understand why it's not in sport but it's just something I miss.

Wouldn't it be nice if when GT7 does come out, it allows us to carry our GT Sport progress over with us, along with our garages?

IRetrouk1290d ago

That would be awsome.
If I were poly i would rework gt sport into the online mode for the next main entry, two birds, one stone kinda thing.

@IRetrouk

I'm sure that's what they are aiming for. It's clear to me now that GT Sport was simply meant as a stop gap between GT6 and GT7. I don't think we're going to get a GT Sport 2, 3, etc. It will all be incorporated into the next numerical GT.

IRetrouk1290d ago (Edited 1290d ago )

Yeah, that's kinda the feeling I got too, or an experiment even, I dont think they thought it would be as popular as it is, good thing is they have now had years to work on their network codes etc, so gt7, or whatever its gonna get called should release with solid network features.

bouzebbal1290d ago

Surprisingly, ps4 is the first home console to have one GT,which is a spin off.. I wonder why.
On ps3 we were complaining about the development time of gt5, and we were promised when gt6 came out so quickly after gt5 that this gen won't impact the development time.

IRetrouk1290d ago

Not sure why there was only one this gen, maybe because they were continually working on updates and dlc cars instead of saving them for follow ups, that's just a guess though, you also have to think of the tournaments and cups, always live, always running, then there is also the championships at the events, you would fragment your user base by releasing another, especially how online focused this one is.
I think the reason gt sport took so long was because they built a brand new engine from scratch, no legacy code, no older physics, everything had to be built again.

Yup 1 new car a month, great support

IRetrouk1290d ago (Edited 1290d ago )

166
That's how many free cars have been added since launch, not gonna add the free tracks, free single player events, or other improvments.

Dee_911290d ago

Yep, as of march PD announced less updates. Most likely because of resources being shifted to the next title. As it would be hard to average 5 free cars and tracks a month and work on a new title.
With polygon count not being a issue on next gen, you can bet the support will be even more frequent which is crazy !

Just finished streaming the update and it's awesome. The car is great, handles like the GR.3 Supra, goes through the corners quick. A little lacking in straight line speed but not much. Something that's not mentioned here is a huge B.O.P update, most of the GR.4 & 3 cars got re-balanced and the 08 GR.2 cars so hopefully no more daily and nations races ending up being one make races. Overall i'm very happy with this update.

.....Um did it just say that Gran Turismo Sport is out on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC?

WickedLester1290d ago (Edited 1290d ago )

Want new tracks Polyphony. Particularly new city/scenic tracks. Circuit tacks are so boring to look at.

BenRC011290d ago

But easy to render at 4k 60

WickedLester1290d ago

They managed it on PS2 and PS3.

MajorLazer1290d ago

All their attention seems to be on GT7. The updates have been very sparse, since the Christmas update

"Gran Turismo Sport is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC."

Time to get a PS5! New PS5 owners in the USA can currently claim a game for free, but GT7 is not part of this promotion.
