How did CD Projekt end up as the most valuable game company in Europe

The game company has been on an incredible rise since 2020 has started, and it's unstoppable at the moment.

Ya, the games industry has had a more is better mentality for a while now. I really miss the previous generations where there was not so many shovelware games.

On the indie front there might be 5% of the games worth playing. Everyone made such a big deal about indies at the start of the generation but honestly, I don't see what they didn't add that they weren't adding before. Now we just get 100's of shovelware games a year from indies.

On the AAA front (indie and publishers), they kept spending more to add more IPs when really I just want them to do games really well.

And then there is the battle royales. Yeah.... now people can spend 100's of hours playing the same shooter and pay microtransactions rather then seeing anything new with (OMG) a story. These battle royales are what I call lab rat games. They addict people and they just keep playing like lab rats.

1) Making games the way they want to make it and not listening political/social agendas
2) Not having MTs shoved in our faces
3) Releasing DLC that rivals AAA games from other studios
4) Their games are fun

I've heard some rumours of cd project red employees not being treated too good but you can't deny they treat the consumer very well and that pays off, the witcher 3 being a masterpiece didn't hurt either.

I’m pretty sure Rockstar is the most valuable game company until the UK is fully out of Europe.

Also there is a very good reason CD project Red are the way they are they’ve learnt from their past mistakes. They felt serious consumer backlash. People seem to forget the past so easily although it was a long time ago.

Well Ubisoft is actually based in France unlike Rockstar who is indeed american owned although they too have studios litterally everywhere.

Witcher 3 is the first game In a long time that completely wowed me. I would have gladly spent more money on it just because I felt I was getting such a good deal and they weren’t being greedy. I remember trying to play dragon age inquisition after and 10 hours in a realized all I was doing was side crap that I cared nothing about compared to the Witcher where the whole game was just fun. I really hope other companies take note and try to do the same but I feel most are going the other direction where they’re fine ripping off customers with addictive micro transactions

You only need to look at how much money each company makes in a fiscal year and also the fact that, CD project red's value started going up after the huge success of the Netflix series. Ubisoft made over $1.7 billion in one fiscal year, whiles CD project made about $110 million, it will literally take CD project over a decade to make what Ubisoft makes in a year. Even with the release of Cyberpunk, I don't see them making close to 2 billion a year. The only company and game I can see reaching that is Rockstar with GTA6. Keep in mind Rockstar even with GTA 5 selling over 100 million copies is only worth 3.5 billion. I love CD project, but they are way over valued.

RED make games with gamers/consumers in mind because they know their masters are the gamers/consumers.

Ultimately they understand where they get their money from. Not from office suits not from shareholders. Its the gamers. Respect and make them happy and you will get your just reward. This is not rocket science.
