Sucker Punch Creative Director Jason Connell revealed that the art direction for Ghost of Tsushima was inspired by Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Shadow of the Colossus, as the goal was to deliver a vibrant presentation just like in those two games.
Sucker Punch's open world epic stands head and shoulders above the most recent game that takes inspiration from it.
Ghost of Tsushima is one of my favorite games all time. Hard to live up to that. Not all games are going to be equivalent to some of the best games ever and that’s ok. It is a natural comparison though
After a demo at PAX East 2024, we sat down with Visions of Mana producer Masaru Oyamada to talk about the Mana series as a whole.
Phil Spencer is ushering in a new age for the Xbox platform, one that could be appropriately titled ‘The Multi-Platform Age Of Xbox.’ It’s begun with four games coming to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles, and if recent reports are true, there’s many more to come.
Spencer dug a bit into why he’s leading Xbox in this new direction, and how part of this change comes from Gen Z buying habits, and the lack of growth in the console market.
Lmao
“It’s not our fault Xbox fans, we have no choice, blame yourselves or the young”
I thought he said a while back it was because of AAA budgets being so bloated or something
Apparently sea of theives was a huge successful on PS so I guessed the board has seen dollar signs and that small batch of games will probably Expand
So i wasn't crazy for getting some SotC vibes when he first started riding his horse through the woods! MAN this game looks like it's gonna be good.
Yep ever since that E3 demo of Jin riding the horse I got major SotC vibes from it. It just has that same kind of atmosphere to it. This game is going to be special.
I like to hear that this game is taking inspiration from previous classics. But from what has been shown this world will feel empty of culture and that's a shame. This is a game based off Japanese culture therefore it should have the culture pouring out of every aspect of its world design. I want to see bustling streets, different types of people men women children of all ages from different walks of life. I'm kinda done with open worlds that are devoid of character and nothing fun to do in them. There have been some developers that are exceptions for instance the Yakuza developers. But it's 2020 and games have been around for many decades it's time to stop making open world games feel like empty spaces.
