What Are The Differences Between Video Game Remasters, Remakes, and Rereleases?

Gamers have seen in recent years the different ways in which video game companies re-release an older title on modern platforms. And with many of them sporting taglines like remastered, remakes, or even just HD, it might be a little tough to tell these terms apart.

-Rerelease: Game gets released again after a limited run, or is released in another system it wasn't available in before, but it's the same game. (Ex. Dragon's Dogma)
-Remaster: Game is given upgraded graphics and gameplay tweaks, but it otherwise is the same game. (Ex. Dark Souls Remastered)
-Remake: The game is built from the ground up and, while having the basic premise of the original, can have drastic differences in gameplay and story due to more modern sensibilities being at play. (Ex. Resident Evil 2)
