The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Final Fantasy XV are two of the biggest open-world RPGs in recent years, but only one of them does side quests right.
There are many 2025 gaming anniversaries to celebrate, including Life is Strange, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Super Mario Bros.
A new datamine of game files from Final Fantasy XV has revealed a cut scene from Chapter 14 that didn't make it into the final release.
always liked 15, but the development was shch a shitshow. it could have been so much more.
but Tabata did a good job with what he had regardless
Ff15 was a missed opportunity from square as they transitioned from turn based to real time.
One of the issues is that it was 30 fps. The combat mechanics required precision dodges to activate Noctis teleport ability and it was difficult to do at 30 fps. I am glad they rectified that in FF16. The story and flow also felt like it went through a chopshop similar to how some live service games end up when they are trying to meet a deadline. Those extra episodes they sold as dlc should have been in the maingame.
FF15 is one of the weaker entries in the series.
Ah yes; FF XV.
The beginning of me coming to the realization the series was no longer for me.
That initial trailer with the Leviathan fight was the game I wish we got. The actual retail release was watchdogged to all Hell and while there’s enjoyment to be had in the game, it’s such an incomplete product and so many elements feel so slapped together without any cohesion.
Like, don’t get me wrong, I loved fishing, cooking, and the first third of the game, but I much rather they made a story that didn’t feel barely there and the the last third of the game didn’t feel so rushed and unfinished.
FFXV was underrated in my opinion
I have played all of the final fantasy games, and I loved this game
turn based to me takes too long, I like active battle
the extra dlc and chapters should have been included in the original release, but it is nice that they fixed the game later
Embark on a legendary dark fantasy adventure, mix tech and monsters for thrilling hunts, build a community of woodland worshippers, compete in two-wheeled races and more with August’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup!
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Wild Hearts, Cult of the Lamb, Ride 5 and more titles are playable from August 20 for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members*.
We’re also announcing new classics – including the legendary TimeSplitters series – and PS VR2 game offerings coming to PlayStation Plus Premium
This is a great month for me, I have almost bought Wild Hearts a ton of times and same for Cult of the Lamb.
Some really good variety here, and some serious playtime on offer here with all the RPG's. Good luck finishing all these games in a month heh.
Time Splitters is fantastic on the classic side, and glad to see they keep supporting PSVR2 with games
For me, the redeeming titles are the Time Splitters ones. Sadly i do not subscribe to premium, only extra.
Not the best month for me other than timesplitters!! Can't wait to replay them again, be nice if they have trophies too but no danger of they don't, can't wait!
how could you even compare those 2? seriously? witcher 3 is the king of side quests its not even for debate between the two, i bet you can't mention one memorable side quest from FFXV (don't get me wrong I love the game and platinumed it)
LOL
Final Fantasy XV's side missions are god awful, they didn't even learn their mistakes for FFVII Remake
Witcher 3.. Duh.. I haven't even played either game and I know that! Lol
Xv did the worst side quests in the series, XII, XIV, IX, OG VII did it miles better. XV side quests were western shallow method. While The Witcher 3 set the highest standard, I can't count the times I thought that I was in the main story, only figuring out that I am not when I get my rewards. If there is anything comparable to The Witcher 3 SQ I would say Yakuza series.
