Well that's just dumb in my opinion. Nothing about nemesis even matches with the las plagas virus.

Shiken1836d ago

The info in the document actually makes a lot of sense, and is one of the few changes to the game I liked.

Kakashi Hatake1836d ago

Guessing you haven't played the remake then...

-Foxtrot1836d ago

I thought this was just for the multiplayer non canon Nemesis

Anyway it’s stupid considering they don’t even know the plagal exists, so why didn’t Umbrella or even Wesker nab the master plagas sample earlier

Could have written the plagas out of the story and they go the other way

NovusTerminus1836d ago

But the NE-a (Nemesis-Alpha) parasite was from the original game as Nemesis was always a Tyrant that had an infused parasite for higher intelligence and ability to utilize the weapons, so it is a simple tie in to RE4 and a very sensible one at that.

"We wanted NE-a infected enemies to be visually similar to the Plagas-infected Ganados as a means for fans to piece together how Nemesis fits within the whole Resident Evil franchise."

Really this seems like a very natural tie in that I am shocked didn't pop up in some way throughout RE4 since Nemesis even in the original RE3 still had the same T Visrus / NE-a Parasitic tampering.

-Foxtrot1836d ago

Yeah but the whole point of Resident Evil 4 was that Wesker wanted the Plagas because it was better than whatever shit they were using oiginally.

To say they were always using the plagas implies they already ran sacked the village in RE4, got the plagas and the like. So why would Wesker send Ada in to steal a sample when he could probably make it easier and get her to steal something from an Umbrella lab.

It's just a shitty retcon that makes no sense, I mean it's set 6 years after RE3 Nemesis, God knows what the village or plagas was like during those times, hell they were just breaking into bioweapons, not that advanced to go deeper with brand new parasites found in the middle of Europe.

"Anyway it's stupid"

The logic of the resident evil plot since it's inception

NovusTerminus1836d ago

The NE-a parasite is not technically the Plagas, which is far stronger (Saddler and Mendez where able to be infected and retain full intelligence) Unlike the NE-a which as far as they are saying is not the Plagas, but an variant of.

"Nemesis Alpha, or the "NE-α Type" was a parasitic species genetically-engineered by Umbrella Europe. Though useless for its physical capacity as a B.O.W., the Nemesis Project staff created this species as a work-around for brain damage and mental degradation, a common result of t-Virus infection"

"The NE-a parasite in Resident Evil 3 was created by Umbrella to mimic the Plagas parasite from Resident Evil 4."

"The inspiration of the project was that of Las Plagas, a parasitic species present in regional Spanish folklore "

It's not that they had the Plagas, they bio engineered a supplement and then in RE4 had a shot to get the real thing so they dispatched Ada to gather it.

Did they make him that notoriously scripted to fit in with the walking statues in Re4, too?

strayanalog1836d ago

This is just confirmation that these remakes were indeed a softboot of the franchise.

Ex-Naughty Dog Dev Says Resident Evil 4 Inspired Uncharted and Many More Action Games

Former Naughty Dog dev says Resident Evil 4 inspired Unchartted and even Gears of War, particularly the over-the-shoulder camera view.

CrimsonWing697d ago

It revolutionized third-person shooters, in a genius way that gives you full control of aiming.

CrimsonWing696d ago

No, I mean RE4. Like the whole snap to over-shoulder and precision aiming was what I meant.

I won’t deny Winback does pave the way in some respect. But it’s not the same at all.

InUrFoxHole7d ago

Both are great series. That's awesome

Samonuske7d ago

I thought this was common knowledge. Resident Evil Revolutionised over the shoulder aiming in 3rd person shooters/action games

italiangamer6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

Influenced basically every third person action game made after it, GTA uses the over the shoulder perspective when shooting since the 4th installment, Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 too and the Batman Arkham series has the over the shoulder perspective as the main camera throughout the whole game series.
Obviously there are a ton more examples but you get the point 🗿.

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Levii_9216d ago

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil15d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

__y2jb15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
