Resident Evil 3 Remake: A Worthy DLC But Nothing More

Resident Evil 3 Remake had a hell of a lot to live up to following on from the masterful RE2, and unfortunately, like my aim, it misses far more than lands.

Been wanting an RE3 remake since the PS1 title was so great and that RE2 remake was also great. Yeah that was shot down first $80 DLC I ever bought day one. Capcom was smoking some great shit if they built half a game and forgot the rest of the game and Capcom want to sell it at a new game price. At $80 Canadian brand new price for a game yeah RE3 fell very flat now I gotta research any new games Capcom decides to make now no more day one Capcom games for me anymore.

Whatever good will they built up with the RE2 remake is well gone after this.

Wonder what the RE4 remake will cost.

Knightofelemia1846d ago (Edited 1846d ago )

They might just forget half of RE4 and charge full price again for another half built game.

I wished remake or DLC would bring back all elements from original game including such as clock tower area dead factory raccoon city park and cemetery the moments such police and UBCS fight zombies to death hospital and gas station explosions the destruction of raccoon city and enemies just as crows giant spiders brain suckers grave digger and nemesis tentacles stages

REmake set the perfect standard. Keep everything that was in the original, Expand on it, Redesign puzzles & switch up item placements to keep things fresh, redesign areas that were weak due to ps1 limitations like the Neptune tank.

The thing that blows me away more than anything with RE3r was that it only contained 2 puzzles... TWO. FUCKING. PUZZLES. You know, for all the weaknesses that Daymare had, it was equipped to the teeth with puzzles. It also took 14 hours to beat it first try compared to 4 and a half for RE3r. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Daymare as soon as I figured out my aim sensitivity should be at 20%. Much better survival horror game than RE3r.

Re3 was a good game. It was just short. Took me 7:20 minutes to finish including cutscenes.

plmkoh1845d ago

Not sure if you're including all unlocks etc, but 7:20 is fairly slow. Most people complete it in 4-5hrs.

It's a good game, perhaps if it was longer as you say or cheaper to compensate it would be scoring higher.

Nodoze1845d ago

When it hits 15.99 I will snag it. It is NOT worth 60 bucks.

Cons: Too short, not nearly enough puzzles, puzzles were too easy. Nemesis was a pushover, most of the monsters were pushovers, game is too action oriented. Jill says too much dumb shit ("you think I don't know how to fuck you up", "I got this" etc...), too many action set pieces, beginning action set piece was lame. They cut so much iconic content from the original... like the entire original game, the only exception being the power station. I don't think that there was a single original zombie in this game. Nikolai felt like a cartoon villain, live action opening cutscene was lame compared to the original game's opening cutscene. It just didn't set the stage nearly as well. The 2nd and 3rd Nemesis fights were nearly identical.

Pros: Carlos and Mikhail were cool as hell. Nemesis, unlike Mr X, actually dropped stuff, even if it was only 4 times in the entire game compared to 7 in the original. Pacing was top notch, end game store was a good idea for replay value, assuming one has a reason to replay it. The scene with Marvin and zombie Brad was cool as hell.

I’ll say this, I really liked RE3 Remake, but it would’ve been way better had they added the cut content and obtuse back tracking puzzles. Also, more of Raccoon City. The whole game was Iike a really good appetizer, but it left you hungry.

It honestly wasn't worth it as DLC, there is so much content missing its insulting.

10 million players for Atomic Heart, nice!

Does this mean we might see an Atomic Heart 2? Crispy Critters!

NovoSlev2d ago

They're launching a new publishing label, Mundfish Powerhouse, but I wouldn't be shocked if they'll be using that to self-publish Atomic Heart 2 - hopefully!

It's on GP. 10 million players and a made another studio? So Did Gamepass help or contribute in making another studio for them? I know its on other platforms which also helped their new venture.

Boy_the_CowRoy1d ago

10 million? Hard to believe for a game with only 400 people playing this game currently and a all time peak of only 37k on PC. Is the difference in popularity of this game on console and PC really that big?

MrDead22h ago

Well done Mundfish, I had a fun time with this game... apart from the 2nd dlc. Great world building, a solid storyline and Bioshock style gameplay. Looking forward to what comes next.
