Sony cancelled my Digital Deluxe Preorder and refunded my card citing "there is not a know new release date at this time" as the reason. Who cares? I'd rather have kept my preorder and just waited for the eventual release. Then, not even a day later, they turn around with a new release date and put it back on the store. Why the nonsense?

I bought it again, and it really isn't a huge deal, but there was no sense in canceling and refunding.

I think a lot of people just want a proper continuation of the story to one of their favorite games. Just like when going through the end of game of thrones, there's a seemingly large group of people looking at what's taking place and going "nothing about this feels right".

As a fan of the original, as someone that wrote multiple times in this website that the original was a masterpiece, as someone that once wrote in this website that if Joel didn't do what he did in the final moments of the original that I would absolutely hate the game... Naughty Dog circa the release of the original LoU is entirely different than the Naughty Dog releasing the sequel. Different designers, different lead writers.

We're being handed a narrative that a lot of people are finding off. There may be a lot of pushback to that found here on N4G, but when you leave this bubble, the overall consensus seems to be that this doesn't feel like a proper progression of the narrative the original created.

People are allowed to stay excited for this. I genuinely hope those people buy and enjoy it. But the people on here trashing those raising concerns on the script, labeling them bigots, and fanboys, and even the freaking alt right, it's like, really? I am going to play this game with an open mind and really cant wait to find out what happened that the characters fate ended up like that.. I personally would not judge the game based on leaks or seeing something from middle without knowing what exactly lead to that or happened before... Preordered the game. This game is Dark and gritty as hell for sure.

There are clips that been leaked and while those are real, taken out of context they can be used to string along a lie very easily. I read a few of the leaks, and in the moment I didn't like what I read, but who bloody knows if half of it is true. The article in question is a simple statement that the game is up for preorder on the PSN. From that a binary divergence has become quite obvious among users. That's where I'm sitting, sadly. And I was looking forward to seeing a more mature take on Ellie, or how her knowing of how the ending played out affected her and Joel's relationship over the years.

I'm still going to play the game, eventually; but the whole thing is just going to feel like Druckmann fanfiction to me. I'm sure there's parts of the storytelling that will be great, but it's not really going to feel like anything a lot of people wanted as a continuation of the original.

Spoilergate changed everything. Reinstate the original May 29 for digital. Other games have released digital first. Just market it as digital early access and that’s that. Hellblade, Gravity Rush, Dreams etc launched digital first. On PS3, Yakuza 5 is still digital-only in NA as is Mass Effect 1. ME1 physical was only available as a special bundle with ME2/ME3. I know. I bought it.
