The game is a lot better than it was when launched.

Dude it didn't even have to try, anything was going to be better then what it was at launch

This is the problem when you have really bad games at launch, they are torn to bits when release, rightfully so, but when the developer updates them they are made out to be way better then they are because the base game was so shit in comparison.

Doesn't matter if they update it 10 times over, it will be be fixed and games like Fallout 3, New Vegas and even Fallout 4 will always be superior Fallout games despite how old they are now.

Just sad considering this is why developers think they can get away with it, because people will just defend them when they start updating ignoring what they did at launch and try to make us feel sorry for them.

@foxtrot

I was trashing this game up until just a few months ago. Bought the thing out of morbid curiosity, because it was dirt cheap, and it ended up better than I was expecting. This was before Wastelanders released.
It's not a perfect game by any means. There's some glitchiness, though far from what it was at launch.

No, it's not up to the standards of 3 or 4, let alone New Vegas. It also was never designed to be all that similar to them. It's a competent survival/crafting game with an interesting map, that got a lot more interesting now with the Wastelanders content. That update was needed.
It's not a goty contender, by any means, but if you were to ask me today, it's probably a 7ish out of 10 game, as long as you're looking for this type of game.

Not everyone is going to enjoy it, but enough work has been put in that it can be a fun experience for people. I'm not defending Bethesda here; I've been trashing them ever since I found Oblivion a giant step down from Morrowind.
I'm also a heavy critic of No Man's Sky and Sea of Thieves, but acknowledge that they also did a lot to improve their game after release, even if what they launched with sub-par.

If you're thinking about buying Fallout 76, I think you should give it a chance. I was turned off by the nature of MMOs, I never liked them. Also, the reviews were terrible, so I didn't bother. After Wastelanders, I still waited a week and debated whether or not to give it a shot. Some online reviews still said it was a bad game, user reviews said it was fun. Finally I decided that I can afford to lose $40 and I'm glad I bought the game. I've been playing solo, you don't really come across many other players on a regular basis. People can kill you, but I've only seen one player become "Wanted" for killing somebody. If somebody attacks you and you don't fight back, their attacks are severely nerfed. If they end up killing you, they become wanted and the person who kills them can get rewards for taking them out. If you decide to fight back, then all damage modifiers are removed and you can duke it out.

Everybody is pretty much doing their own thing. You can form groups, so there is some interaction if you want it. Mostly though, people just build a camp and install vending machines to sell goods to other players. I have a mic and tried talking to some people but most don't use them. It's just a large world ripe for exploring and I haven't had any difficulties doing any of the quests so far by myself.

Replayable content? What content?

MadLad1461d ago

The content that exists within the game. Because it exists.

I just bought it. I actually enjoy it.

Missing a lootable item was part of the game. Random and chance helped make Fallout so much fun and interesting. This just makes it lazy and disconnected to the simulated events. An interesting feature, but Where are all these veterans that agree so hard?

I'm a fallout veteran since the release of the original, and I don't agree.
