For the first time, I'm having fun with Fallout 76

Eurogamer: When I reviewed Fallout 76 at launch, I said it was in desperate need of a hub - a town or a city filled with NPCs. Now, with the release of free update Wastelanders, it's not just got one city, it's got two - and a bucketload of NPCs to boot.

It might be a free update but you still need either PS Plus or XB Live Gold in order to play it. So f*** them.

Given that MMOs tend to be an exception, must to ask if PS+ is actually required for Fallout 76.

fallout is not a free to play game, its just that the dlc is free for those tha already own 76, thats why you still need to have ps+

I know you need Plus/Gold in order to play with other people. This new update adds npcs/quests, they could have removed the paywall requirement JUST for the Wastelanders mode. Plenty of other online-only games let you play solo without the paywall.

Wait, you need Xbox Live or PS Plus to play an online game? That's a totally unexpected requirement that has no precedent.

For xbox yes, for ps4 the f2p games dont need it.

Wastelanders adds a lot to the experience. It's not perfect, but they have ironed out a lot of the technical issues since launch. It's not perfect, but I enjoy the game for what it is.

Im going to give it a go - Grabbed 76 for cheap a while back and actually did have some fun with it before the repetition really hit.

Nice to see them still making significant updates even if it was a broken product from the start
