What Resident Evil 3 Remake Did Wrong

Resident Evil 3 Remake missed a lot of opportunities to expand its own story. Instead, the remake cuts quite a bit of content from the original game and shortens its own longevity. The entire experience the game had to offer could be considered a bit lackluster.

This took me 11 hours first playthrough. Are people doing first runs with infinite ammo or what?

Yui_Suzumiya1893d ago (Edited 1893d ago )

I don't know who to trust though because I've heard anywhere from 2 to 10 hours. That's why I decided on Persona 5 Royal and then I'll get it once it's $40

BootHammer1893d ago

Whoever told you 2 hours is either delusional or a professional speed runner. I moved at a brisk pace, b/c the game demands it with so many enemies coming at you at a steady rate. I just barely came in under the 10 hour mark (9 hours 47 minutes or so) and loved my time with it. For me at least, the asking price is well worth the experience offered here ;b

cooperdnizzle1892d ago

First time I beat it in 5 hours on the hardest difficulty it would let me play. I than beat it two more times, one 59 mins, last time in 51.

Not being rude or putting anyone down. I wish it would have been a little longer for sure. Especially when you replay it, you see just how truly small the game is

my first play through on standard difficulty was 7 hour on the result screen, but overall time playing, inc the times I died was about 14 hours.

11 hours means you died A LOT and had no idea where to go.

My first playthrough was with hardcore mode, and it took me 7 hours 3 minutes to beat the game.

DG901892d ago

Woah, Got a badass over here..

Kornholic1892d ago

You completely missed the point.

Kornholic1892d ago

For those too stupid to understand the point: the average player will complete the game in 6-7 hours. 11 hours gametime is an outlier.

cooperdnizzle1892d ago

I have to agree that is just the truth.

NapalmSanctuary1888d ago

I love how you gotta explain yourself over such a straightforward comment.

Took me 11 hours too..I wouldn't say I got stuck in the game..and I enjoyed it too

BootHammer1893d ago

I had a great time with this one, just as I did with RE2 Remake. It's not perfect, but I highly recommend it to fans of the RE series and especially to those that played the original RE3. It's awesome how far the technology and the devs themselves have come.

Blu3_Berry1892d ago

I feel like people are so focused on the negatives they completely ignore anything that was positive with this game which is really sad. It took me 7 hours to beat it on normal and I did pretty much explore everything. This game is meant to be played multiple times on harder difficulties as well as unlocking items for use. Nightmare and Inferno difficulty are crazy and really does change things up.

cooperdnizzle1892d ago (Edited 1892d ago )

Explains to me how it’s crazy? No new bosses or boss stages, they put out a few extras peel head zombies and switch up ammo locations nothing more nothing less. You tell me what I’m missing please? I want this crazy game? The only hard boss is the very last stage I admit they make him hard, but he doesn’t have new attacks they simply make him more aggressive.

What would have been cool and I was hoping they would do it.. when you fight the 5 hunters at the end it would have been cool to fight one of them prototype tyrants! Their right fucking there throw one at me

NapalmSanctuary1888d ago

The last stage was easiest boss fight to me. I didn't even have to bother with shooting the glowing bulbs. I just tanked the hits with a first aid spray on each cylinder.

I think I got more value for the FF7 Remake than this considering people complaining about it only being in Midgar but at least I managed to cough up 40+ hrs into it.

I prefer play the original more than this

RE3 need another remake

DivineHand12595d ago

Why not port RE4 remake to meta quest 3?

Profchaos95d ago

Because the headset isn't capable of running it simply put it's not powerful enough.

Look at metro awakening on quest 3 that's pushing it to its extreme and it's quite far behind PC and PS for graphical capabilities.

Profchaos95d ago

Wow I thought they would abandon this as the sales for village and 4 were abysmal

JEECE95d ago

For whatever reason and despite all evidence to the contrary, their are some companies bent on convincing themselves and others that people want to play premium games on Apple devices.

VersusDMC95d ago

It's assumed apple is paying for the ports. Apple probably paid a lump sum for all the RE games so capcom is just finishing up the contract.

Or maybe Capcom sees this as port practice for the switch 2 or these ports are what the switch 2 versions will be?

Out with the old in with the new. Some decent games here but nothing that couldn't be grabbed for a fiver or less if you wanted to keep playing.

Ps plus library pick-up games have been great lately so can't be upset losing these when we are getting stuff like gow Ragnarok or the man who erased his name even the classics have been good lately

SegaSaturn669123d ago

RIP 9 game, I've hardly played ye.
