Xbox Team Shares Their Own Animal Crossing: New Horizons Custom Designs

The official Xbox Twitter account has shared a tweet with two custom Xbox shirt designs that you can use in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Very cool. We are all gamers in the end. I love that Microsoft can do things like this. Take a "competitor" game and represent the brand in a very pro gamer way. Like Phil say, put the gamer at the center.

It’s sweet, but Microsoft do this because they don’t see the Switch as a rival console. However, with PlayStation with whom they are chasing the same customers, they would never do this. When Little Big Planet and it’s sequels were launched and everybody was creating designs, and with Dreams too, Microsoft stayed on the sidelines, perhaps because they feel it legitimises their business rival.

I totally agree with you. But since Sony left the handheld market, they should get closer to Nintendo Switch players; to show them that they are not enemies. Sony has many franchises that could be successful if "Nintendo-ish-ed".

Or maybe it's just their PR teams Twitter handler doing something cool. Seriously, MS' upper management isn't getting involved in every little thing their Twitter puts out even when it involves a competitors product.

Why would Nintendo be upset with this at all? Nintendo was upset that a Playstation game where they allowed gamers to make games within the game was using Nintendo owned IP for those games...totally understandable. What if someone attempted to make a Mario Kart clone using Nintendo characters...could you imagine...Sony platforms would have its own Mario Kart. Of course they would get upset at that. This is a platform holder using Nintendo's own game and making an Xbox brand wear for other Switch players...completely different.
