Okay Capcom, It May Be Time To Slow Down With The Resident Evil Releases

Resident Evil 3 should have came out a few years after RE2 with the original RE2 team

Probably then it wouldn't feel a little different then RE2 and the team could have joint the two games more closely together. The best thing I liked in RE3 was seeing those two police officers die by the licker, the dead bodies you come across in RE2. We needed more moments like that in the games, even a brief scene of Jill or Carlos seeing Claire/Leon from afar. Even a small Mr X appearance.

Or maybe, like I was saying before Re2 came out. It could have been both games in one considering they are both short games and take place in the same locations. It should have started with Jill's story and after she gets infected. RE2 starts and when RE2 finishes RE3 continues. There was something really cool in RE3 where Carlos was the one who blew up the wall and damaged the pipes making it hard for Leon to past through. There should have been more moments like this where the design was dynamic and affect the player.

One of the biggest mistakes RE3 done was blowing up Raccoon city. That's where Capcom ran out of ideas. It wasn't about zombies anymore and in all honesty, Resident evil was never always about zombies but that what Resident evil was known for....Zombies. Capcom could have done so much more with Racoon city in the remakes.

Old RE games were some of the best, at the time of RE2 release it was my favorite franchise. RE5 and 6 really hurt that, this is helping heal.

Edit: I do think it helps the team understand the franchises roots better as well, and that can only help when they do make a new RE.

They are not. They are pursuing the money bag. The article is not against RE games but standing in the belief of quality vs. quantity. AC, Need for Speed, Call of Duty, are all fan favorites that entered in hell due to too many consecutive releases.

Fans will always want more, and that's fine. But just like Naughty Dog, better take your time to make things right.

They have multiple teams all working on individual projects the quality is still high but multiplayer is always a misstep when Capcom is involved.

But next year will see re8 and probably has the same team who launched re 7 in 2016 so they have had 5 years to dev re8 which should be a high quality title hopefully with VR support again for all platforms

Or just lower the price... RE3Remake would have been much more appetizing at a $30-40 price range. Forcing a half baked multiplayer component to warrant the full $60 price point was a bad idea. Everything I've heard in reviews are summarizing the same basic idea. That love it or hate it, all critics agree it's not worth $60 unless you're really excited about the multiplayer aspect which I doubt many are.

Expect a Resident Evil 4 remake however. It's going to happen as it's the biggest game Capcom has in their catalog that even fans who dont want it remade WILL buy yet again lol! I will, probably more than once.

The reality of the situation is that Capcom didn't hit that home run with this all new edition of Resident Evil 3. But you don't care. You never have and you never will. You don't care about cut content, five hours or less to finish the game, removal of gore, crap physics, and a much inferior Nemesis. You don't care that there's very few puzzles. You only care about style, presentation and graphics. It's the reason why this franchise, like the entire games industry, is where it is today, in the shitter.

The games are quality. They were released in their heyday the same way. 1998-1999. Why not strike when all cylinders are firing perfectly. Let the market decide when they had their fill. And they only released 3 so soon because they made 2 and 3 together seeing is how they take place in the same city at about the same time. Just like the original. It makes business sense to me. Code-Veronica or Outbreak or Dino Crisis would be a whole new place and time. It would inherently take much more time to complete.
