So we finally know most of the specs for both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 and have learned that both will be very capable systems. We are looking at CPUs in both system and what they should be capable of.
MonsterVine: "SEGA's Summer Game Fest 2025 lineup features Demon Slayer: Hinokami Chronicles 2, Shinobi: Act of Vengeance, and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds—three hands-on demos that span anime action, retro beat-’em-ups, and customizable kart racing."
COGconnected got our hands on the demo for Tony hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, and want to give you our impressions.
I might get it for nostalgia purposes , 4 was my first foray into online gaming when I bought the network adapter for ps2 . I can't wait for the Underground games if they get remade
MonsterVine: "Iron Galaxy revives two classic skating titles with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, staying true to the originals while adding fresh mechanics, cross-play, and secret characters like Michelangelo."
Such an awesome time to be a gamer (even if the world is going through some tougher times at the moment). It seems that regardless of the choice you make this time around, you'll be set for some an awesome combo of amazing hardware combined with the all-important software support.
For those who want a bit more about the possible impact of the CPUs inside the next-gen consoles, NxGamer has an awesome video on it here: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
“”Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 CPU Comparison - Stable 60 FPS Finally Possible on Consoles“
Literally the most exciting feature about next gen consoles for me. Finally smooth and responsive gameplay across the board.
I really REALLY want to see more destruction and physics next gen, gimme a BLACK 2 or Mercenaries 3 just to show it off
Stable 60fps has been possible since NES/Master System days. It depends on what type of game is being made and the graphics a developer is trying to push.
But it didn't stop me from playing Contra. It didn't stop me from playing Syphon Filter. Didn't stop me from playing Horizon Zero Dawn. 30fps will not stop me from playing any awesome future PS5 game if the developer decided on it. It's not that serious. We all know when a game's fps is unplayable. And 30fps IS playable.
"But but but..."
30fps is playable. 60fps and above is preferable like in a 2 player game. But if a single player game is good, I really don't care. I'm mostly playing single player anyway. I think it really only matters to people in competitive games. It only matters in VR to prevent nausea. I don't get nausea in a flat game at 30fps. If fps mattered that much, then give us all 120fps. But I'd bet there would be individuals complaining it wasn't as smooth as 240fps.
