Kingdom Hearts Director Teases Unexpected Development Between Versus and Verum Rex

Kingdom Hearts 3 launched last year and received a story expansion ReMind in January. This DLC has hinted at the future direction for the series.

It depends on how it's translated. It could go either way. Every translator I've tried translates it to "future development is unexpected", which would be the opposite of what everyone is assuming.

Agreed. Loved the first ones to death, but it has totally lost me. I really miss the simpler times from KH1 and 2.

Eh KH2 is honestly when the story began to fall apart got WAY too complicated for its own good and it just went got more ridiculous from there.

Yeah, and good thing we have complete(ish) collections now, as my one beef with the series is that it has always been way more difficult to follow than it really should be. At least it's far easier to experience the bulk of it now than it is with .hack//, but the latter also doesn't require necessarily having played/read/seen all of it. It's a bit ridiculous IMHO that an IP that contains Disney characters is so convoluted. At least it's better now than it was back in the early 2000s when KH2 made zero sense unless you played a GBA game or checked out a two-volume manga adaptation, and the series has only grown from there.

The mistake they made was numbering them. The many handheld versions were canon. I played them all back to back and i understood the story. Maybe the gaps in release made people forget bits.

As confusing as the story is I wouldn't mind a Verum Rex spin off game from the KH Dev team.
