WTMG's Heidi Hawes: "Ara Fell: Enhanced Edition is everything fans of retro RPGs are looking for. It has well written characters, beautiful environments, decent combat and class systems, a fantastic musical score, and a story that gets deeper and more compelling the farther you delve into it. It’s not groundbreaking by any means, but it delivers a fun and engaging experience that will stick with you for a while."
Welcome to Ara Fell, a flying continent in the sky that’s slowly but surely losing pieces of land. Elves are to blame, though their intentions were good. Stopping the hovering continent from falling to pieces will require six elven artifacts. Ara Fell: Enhanced Edition, a turn-based JRPG by Stegosoft re-released with new content, starts off innocently enough: a pair of close friends, Lita and Adrian, explore ancient elven ruins for a ring. What could possibly go wrong? Everything, apparently.
My expectation for indie titles is not to produce a triple A game, but to do what they can within their limitations. Ara Fell is one such game where they’ve made the most of their limitations.
Ara Fell, developed by Stegosoft Games, is a loving tribute to the classic genre of JRPG games that stretches all the way back to the NES and SNES days.
