100%ing a game is no easy feat. Here is why CoG stopped 100%ing most games and how it changed the way we played.
Palworld developer Pocketpair has responded to this morning's dramatic decision by Nintendo to file a patent infringement.
Palworld is better, but Nintendo has$$$$ They can fight it all they want, but will absolutely lose. It is a blatant Pokemon rip off. I do wish them luck though.
People want Nintendo to lose as a big middle finger to the company, but if Nintendo wins then they set a precedent for others to follow which could be bad for Nintendo themselves if they end up infringing on a patent owned by someone else
The one I'm reminded of is, a few years ago Sony patented something to do with AI controlling a characters moments in a game to "help get past difficult or grindy parts" of a game
Mario kart 8 deluxe had a the auto acceleration and auto steering technology implemented, so potentially if that came back for mario kart 9 could possibly open the door for Sony to sue them if it's close enough
Silent Hill 2 remake will be exclusive to the PS5 until October 8, 2025, so don't expect an Xbox port or announcement it expires.
why does it feel like we are living in the early 00's again? Sony paying for either full exclusivity or timed was the thing back in the day... and its been 'remastered' for this generation.

i tend to play games that i can Platinum and not play games that woudld take a long time to platinum..... perhaps i’d play a lot more interesting games if i just played them and ‘collected’ whatever trophies i could during the time.
When you get older it stops
I absolutely love collecting and trying to be a Completionist. I never let it ruin my fun Tho.
Sometimes I'll pre-screen a games' achievements or Trophies before starting a game and decide right then and there if it'll be a title where I "GO FOR 100%" Or one where I just try to enjoy the ride.
Sometimes the overwhelming ones become just a joyride if I feel it will take months to get the Achievement or Trophy. Etc..
Others, it ends up depending on if it seems like things I'll get it thru normal gameplay or if it will take too much dedication or time wasted etc.
However, sometimes I just come upon a game that does a good job of naturally making me crave the 100%. And to me, those are some of the best designed games/ achievements etc.. Ones where the challenge feels natural, fair, and rewarding, but the game stays fun throughout trying to Earn them all.
As soon as a game becomes a chore it's time to take a break from it, there's nothing wrong with aiming to 100% something but you'll enjoy it a lot more if you don't try to do it all in one go.
The best thing about leaving Xbox360 behind for the PS4/Steam was getting rid of my 60k achievement score. Now I just pick up a game and play it for fun instead of studying how to not miss achievements before I play and then playing an extremely regimented way.
