DBPG: Toejam & Earl III: Mission to Earth Review (Xbox)

Released in the early days of the original Xbox, Toejam & Earl 3 was one of those games that was in development hell.  It started on the Saturn, then to the Dreamcast, and finally wound up on Microsoft's first outing into the home console market. This is an odd one, and weirdly forgotten by time. We didn't even know it existed until a year ago. Why is it so forgotten? Top 10 Xbox Platformers

Running and jumping on Microsoft's original console. When it comes to 3D platform games, Microsoft had more than their fair share. Considering it's a dying genre, I thought I'd put together a list of the best platformers ever released for the Xbox. If you're ready... let's jump in!

Psychonauts was timed on Xbox and ported to PS2. Aww the days where these things didn't matter a whole bunch.

I thought Ty was a PS2 exclusive. Good list despite these games are multiplats.

Heres hoping platformers make a grand return.

Thanks! I hope 3D platformers come back, too. By the way, all three Ty games were on Xbox. Also, four of the games on the list are Xbox-exclusive.

I thought I was one of the few that actually really enjoyed Kameo.

Wow. Just realized how few platformers graced the system. Voodoo Vince was amazing as well.

Here's to hoping that Rare gets back to making the kinds of games they are known for.

Back in the Groove: An Exclusive Interview with Greg Johnson, Creator of ToeJam and Earl

Aggro Sky of Gaming Rebellion Writes: "For those that were unaware, there have been three major ToeJam and Earl games thus far (and a fourth if you count a light gun mini-game released on the Sega Genesis), the original ToeJam and Earl, ToeJam and Earl: Panic on Funkatron and ToeJam and Earl 3: Mission to Earth. Since the release of TJ&E3 in 2002 on the Microsoft Xbox, (of all things) the franchise has been silent, well, until February 25th of 2015. After long last we have a new TJ&E game in development entitled: “Back in the Groove”, a fitting name for a long dormant franchise. However, things are a bit different in this fourth outing. Gone is Sega, a name that has been practically psynonemous with ToeJam and Earl for nearly 25 years. This time around, TJ&E mastermind Greg Johnson has decided to go directly to fans for support via kickstarter."
