Sonic the Hedgehog: What We’d Want in a 30th Anniversary Collection

While Sega hasn't announced anything yet, a collection celebrating the Blue Blur's 30th anniversary would make sense. Here's what we'd like to see.

All I know is Sega needs to work something out with the MJ estate as it's stupid that two of Sonic Teams best 2D Sonic games are missing in recent collections or are omitted from the Sega Ages series.

I'd like to see just Sonic 1,2,3 & Knuckles, Sonic CD and the 8-bit Sonic 1, 2 & Chaos/Triple Trouble in one release.

Sonic Adventure 3 or remake of 1 and 2

well this is probably why the series is always stuck in a rut.
some gamers preferred the classic mechanics where all you were given was a simple objective; collect some emeralds and reach the end of the screen to fight a boss. while others preferred some depth in exchange for a slower paced story. (get to know a bunch of characters and then fight some bosses. )

I always feel like I am fighting with a certain section of the Sonic fanbase. I feel that the 2D fans never could move on and are holding the series back by not letting it be anything else. Even though the likes of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Generations and Colours are fairly well received, they still received a lot of criticism from fans because they weren't like Sonic of old. It's strange to see such a different reaction with Mario fans. Both series are from the same era of gaming, but Mario fans seem to be more accepting of Mario's modern era than Sonic fans.

As much as I liked Sonic Mania, I feel like the series can be more than just a 2D sprite game. It's a shame a lot of other Sonic fans refuse to see that too.
