Many games announced during the eighth generation have yet to see the light of day. Here are five lost games, from Deep Down to Dead Island 2.

I'm hoping Beyond Good and Evil 2 gets cancelled to be honest and rebranded into a new IP

Then we can get a proper platforming true sequel after

Sciurus_vulgaris1656d ago

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is one of those“what in the hell were you thinking man “ type of games. It’s not what fans wanted or expected. And it seems to have become vapourware.

AK911654d ago

No that can't be done not with Current Ubisoft only way it could work is if Michel Ancel made a spiritual successor to the series.

cammers19951654d ago

The distressing part is it's a big gamble for them. Taking this long to develop must obviously be a hefty price tag and with that the game could potentially fail (likely will) and it will be a big blow. The game looks like garbage. Vastly different from the original.

Furesis1654d ago

Beyond Good and Evil 2 looks like it could be a fun movie to watch if it was one. I don't know how they are going to make a game out of THAT and keep the energy that's shown in the trailers.

Agent is technically last gen (Gen 7) and as for Dead Island 2 its still in development as of 2019.

I still have hope for WILD especially with how quiet Ubisoft have been with BG&E2, I personally believe Ancel wants off the project to go back to work on WILD but that's just conjecture atm.

I remember seeing a commercial for Dead Island 2 during the Governor season of The Walking Dead. Lmao

AK911653d ago (Edited 1653d ago )

Dear god I don’t even watch the show (I read the comic instead) but iirc wasn’t the governor arc a LONG time ago?

ZeekQuattro1653d ago

@AK91 He made his debut season 3 which was around 2013.

REDGUM1654d ago

I myself was interested in Agent too which has been sad no to see the light of day.
Two others to mention are Atomic Heart & Scorn.
Atomic Heart took me by surprise and blew me away with the design and atmospheric tension.
It better hit the ps5 or else..... I'll get upset 🥺

Imortus_san1654d ago

They were to big for this gen.

cammers19951654d ago

At this point the team behind beyond good and evil should just give up development. It's gonna release and nobody will care. It's taking too long to develop and in all honesty, what they shown so far looks like crap. Looks vastly different than the original.

and as we all know
Different is bad

God of War Ragnarok Debuts With 23,000 Concurrent Players on Steam, 60% Fewer Than 2018’s God of War

God of War Ragnarok debuts on PC with just under 23,000 concurrent players on Steam, 60% fewer than God of War 2018's launch.

"One potential reason for the lower numbers is the mandatory PlayStation Network (PSN) account requirement, which has frustrated many players."

Every AAA game requires logins from their publishers. Even on PS and Xbox you must still login to a 3rd party publisher.

Why is this journalist pretending this is the first time this has ever happened? Or that it hasn't existed since the 1990s?

Tacoboto2h ago

Hellblade 2 and Starfield dont require an Xbox login on Steam. Dragon Age coming soon won't require an EA login.

BlackTar18725m ago

Cool you named a couple games. That doesn’t in any way refute what he posted.

also, its already cracked. for people who fly a flag with a skull and crossbones, you know what I mean

"also, its already cracked. for people who fly a flag with a skull and crossbones, you know what I mean"

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine with 2225,690 all time peak players, says hello.

I understand why Sony will try to avoid and release their first party games day and date on PS5 and PC, especially their single player games which are expected to drive PS5 sales, whoever, such strategy really puts them between a rock and a hard place, since later releases on PC at full price, will most definitely attract less gamers.

Not sure if Sony´s strategy to sell more games while making their franchises more popular among PC gamers is working right now.

They have a more "agressive" plan/approach for PC in place. Let´s see how it unfolds.

purple10111m ago

I agree with you which normally isn’t the case! Hehe

“ Not sure if Sony´s strategy to sell more games while making their franchises more popular among PC gamers is working right now.”

I agree

Also Sony putting Lego horizon on switch

Not sure how that will work out either
Was probably a Lego stipulation to release on switch, but still interesting

truthBombs5h ago

I'm very happy to be corrected.

I think this is because PSN isn't available in 100s of countries which means users can't even buy the game in their region.

MrDead5h ago

The first one doesn't require a PSN account.

Jin_Sakai2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

God of War 2018 is simply a better game.
