Lol it’s always like that it could be the worse game ever (ET the extraterrestrial) and there’ll always be a hardcore fan claiming it to be the best of all times

You are definitely not wrong. I only like Zelda anymore, where I used to love it. After stealing the idea for Twilight Princess from Okami, I lost a lot of respect for Nintendo for allowing it. Likewise, there's not been much originality with the series since Wind Waker, imo. They've managed to steal from so many established titles because most fans refuse to see it or even bother playing anything outside of Nintendo offerings. To each their own.

The series has been getting free passes for its 3D iterations for way too long. There are so many double-edged designs between MM, WW, SS and BotW it's mind numbing how reviewers always tip the balance in any problem areas as fully positive when they don't give the same courtesy to other games.

Looking Ahead: A Possible Future for 3D Zelda

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "With Tears of the Kingdom being so recent and Nintendo’s next system likely coming soon, it’s safe to say we won’t be looking at another big Zelda launch title this around and it’ll likely be years before any ruminations of the next game start to surface, but in the meantime we can always speculate. Breath of the Wild changed things for the series by multiplying its popularity manyfold, so it would seem only logical that the franchise will continue along the path Breath of the Wild started, however a look at the series’ history shows it might not be as simple as that. So, let’s take a look at what the future of this legendary series might have in store for us, blending in equal parts qualified theorizing and wishful thinking."

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the anti-Breath of the Wild

Polygon: "To get back to the way Ocarina made us feel, it was necessary to reject almost everything about it."

Ocarina of Time changed my life forever, such a masterpiece

Zeldafan64123d ago

Hard to believe it's 25 years old already.

The feeling this game gave me the first time i had my hands on it is indescribable.. i still get the chill from that day..
botw is like a spin off of the series.. it’s fun but with many flaws and the most important which is Zelda formula isn’t there..

FinalFantasyFanatic123d ago

I can't even remember how many times I played through OoT, I finished that game, and collected everything so many times.

I generally agree with the author here. However, if I had to point out a single game as the 'anti-Breath of the Wild,' that would be Majora's Mask. Pretty much everything in that game is interconnected, relies on something that the player must have done previously, is timed, and can be considered a puzzle in itself.

but still considered the best of the seties.

i would have liked botw to be more like ocarina.

25 years from today whatever Zelda is out people would too be looking fondly at Breath of the Wild.

Ah the more simple times of the 2020s.

It isn't...
