Welcome to our Bookbound Brigade review, settle in as we take you through our thoughts on this unusual addition to the the tried and tested Metroidvania genre. It does offer some novel mechanics that haven’t appeared in the genre as of yet. But it’s hard to see this game, innovations and all, as any kind of improvement to said genre.
Many bad reviews on this. Sounds like a botched opportunity on a great MV concent. Sucks.

In a world where physical books are on the decline and the digital age is in full swing, it is nice to see someone make a video game about the analogue written word. I am a fan of a good book and when I saw the trailer for Bookbound Brigade, I was quite excited. A 2D cartoon Metroidvania with literary heroes, platforming and combat. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? Well, don’t count your chickens yet, as there may be a sour twist at the end of this story.
Really sucks when an idea so brilliant stumbles this bad. I was super excited for this but it seems to be a really bad Metroidvania.
