What The New Ninja Gaiden Game Needs to Fix

Team Ninja knows fans want a new Ninja Gaiden game, but if Ryu Hayabusa is going to come back, there are some things that the series needs to fix.

Ninja Gaiden 2 was easy once you spammed the flying swallow, tbh the first game had a similar problem but that didn’t work with more powerful enemies in the OG game.

If they want to reboot the franchise then they just need to stick to the basics.

I don’t about the story. The ninja gaiden games weren’t memorable for story. They were memorable mostly for the awesome gameplay.

Yup. Just like DMC. Story is a nice topping but its not why we boot up those games.

Yup, not every game needs a heart gripping story to be considered great. The Ninja Gaiden story is better then average but not amazing.

The best part about the game is its combat system, and like DMC the combat system makes the game amazing.

I'd say wrong on both counts. As has been pointed out in this comment section, we don't play NG for story. We relate to Ryu through gameplay, not story. Thats what makes a game, a game, and that's what the modern industry is forgetting.

As far as gameplay goes, NG is not a souls like. Souls games are about approaching every skirmish carefully, doing one's best not to bite off more than one can chew. NG is about diving in, relying on ones skill and experience, with
the tool set and speed at Ryu's disposal, to turn everything to dust. Your tactics are ingrained in you muscle memory and your strategies are developed, and changed, on the fly. Stance switching is better suited to slower paced, more careful combat... like Nioh and Bushido Blade. Any additions to gameplay must NOT slow it down.

Bring back the difficulty of Ninja Gaiden 1

I want the next Ninja Gaiden game to be the next evolution in its gameplay. Ninja Gaiden from the NES was a classic, but after several gens forward, the next Ninja Gaiden game on the Xbox completely changed everything. We're approaching 3 gens after the 2004 game and it needs to change again with a fresh take

They just need improve the key aspects of action gameplay, world/progression, and traversal. They really need to keep it simple, go back to those basics, and focus on getting that right. Keep in mind that Team Ninja, as they currently are, has yet to prove that they can properly execute a NG game.
