RIP Switch. That is a lacklustre lineup for sure.

Dont getme wrong --- Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition will be fantastic, but its not a new game like many many other Switch games thats been recycled from previous consolios.

lockedongamer11515d ago

Let's wait for more information before saying RIP Switch

Shiken1515d ago

By that logic, the PS5 must be DOA due to lack of info as well.

Niether is true BTW.

Fluttershy771515d ago (Edited 1515d ago )

Agree neither is true, but by that logic most PS5 lineup should release 2021, so there's a little more time for info

yomfweeee1515d ago

That's terrible logic because PS5 news is being purposefully held back as it is going to be a big event and the console won't be out until the end of the year.

For an existing system we should have some idea of what games are coming in the current year.

King_Noctis1515d ago (Edited 1515d ago )

The list didn’t include games like BOTW 2, Deadly Premonition 2, or Rune Factory 5. Plus, knowing Nintendo, a Direct will surely hit soon and all their plans for 2020 will lay bare when it does.

So RIP Switch huh?

pwnmaster30001514d ago

Deadly premonition is something to brag about and it still has a chance it might be PS4 and possibly X1.
BOTW2 has no official release date yet
Rune factory 5 I’m excited for.

I love my switch but this year looks pretty quite for it.
The only reason it’s getting ay time for me
This year is to catch up on some games.
I hope I’m wrong tho because the switch is an awesome console.

Nerdmaster1514d ago

"And that’s it for Nintendo-published titles!"
They made a list that only included titles that are published by Nintendo.

lockedongamer11514d ago

BOTW 2 isn't confirmed, and the rest aren't published by Nintendo

King_Noctis1514d ago

“ BOTW 2 isn't confirmed, and the rest aren't published by Nintendo”

You’re right, but those are still exclusive to the Switch (as least as of right now) and as for BOTW, it had been more than 3 years since the original release, so surely the sequel would be coming soon.

Plus, I didn’t even mentioned games like Detective Pikachu and Sport Story which will surely be released this year. So to say “RIP” Switch is just ignorance at best.

Reading this article makes me feel depressed. Looks like my switch is gonna keep gathering dust this year.

😒

Neonridr1512d ago

you've played the entire lineup of games? Jesus my backlog between my Switch and PS4 is unreal.

Aghashie1512d ago (Edited 1512d ago )

Well, not every single game... Just the ones I care about.

Zelda BOTW
Mario Odyssey
Bayoneta
Dark Souls
Ni No Kuni
Octopath
Ys

Currently playing The Witcher (for my 4th time).

Thinking about getting Okami and FF12, but I already played those games long ago. Not feeling like spending money on re-releases.

Honestly, there's nothing on the upcoming switch line up for me. Did you have a suggestion you think I could enjoy? Let me know.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons vs. New Leaf - comparing which is better in 2024

NE: "We're looking at ACNH and ACNL to determine which is the better game and how future entries can learn from both of them."

After the hype wore off during the height of COVID I found New Horizons disappointing compared to. Ew Leaf

NH gave us a lot more cool features but then took things away which they slowly drip fed us with poor updates

Crazy how much it sold and how popular it was during COVID and it got such terrible support

We need more control in the next game, the fact we couldn’t move the airport or town hall was ridiculous and certain items were randomised, like I could get a black lamppost unless a friend gave me one of his because mine were green.

Nyxus25d ago

In the end I still prefer New Leaf, one of the most important factors being the breakable tools. It gets pretty annoying when you have to keep making bug nets, fishing rods etc in New Horizons.

scorpio_204924d ago

It came out at the perfect time and was completely abandoned save for a couple of small updates. Those months after release could have taken the game to a whole other level but I guess Nintendo wasn’t impressed with the number of active players.

Bravely Default producer teases an announcement later this year

A message was posted on the official Bravely Default account on X (as spotted by user Stealth), to celebrate the third anniversary of the latest game in the series, Bravely Default 2.

The message, written by producer Tomoya Asano, suggests that a new announcement related to the series will be coming later in 2024.

Maybe for the Switch successor?

OtterX58d ago

That would be great. I doubt the Switch successor will come this year, probably Spring of '25 (bc of rumors). But that would line up if they made an announcement on Bravely Default III in the Fall. Maybe a cross-platform title?

Nyxus58d ago (Edited 58d ago )

Yeah it was originally planned for this year but it seems to have been moved to 2025. I wonder when they will announce it though. Anyway I still need to play Bravely II (do already own it).

OtterX58d ago

@Nyxus You know, I still only ever played the demo of Bravely Default II, and loved it. It was just one of those things where I was playing so many other things at the time it came out. Next time I see it on sale I'll pick it up. I'm hardcore on the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters at the moment. I'm really loving them, particularly bc it's the first time that the classics have included actual orchestrated music.

Nyxus58d ago

I'm really hoping the Switch successor is backwards compatible, because I have quite a backlog for the system, including several RPGs like Bravely II, Octopath Traveler I and II and Fire Emblem Engage.

ZeekQuattro58d ago

Nice. I really enjoyed Bravely Default 2. Surprised they didn't port 1 and Bravely Second at some point.

FinalFantasyFanatic57d ago

I'm surprised that didn't happen either, seems like an obvious choice, but then again, I hear Bravely Default 2 didn't do very well.

The 7 Best Selling Switch Games of All Time

The Nintendo Switch has been an undeniable success for Nintendo, but which games make the best selling chart for the console?

GotGame81870d ago

Animal crossing came out the week the entire world shutdown. Yeah I bought it.

kevco3370d ago

Agreed. I think a lot of the AC: H sales have to do with early lockdown players!

I mean, I would've played it anyway. But I guess there's a lot of people who got into it because of the hype and their new found free time!

DivineHand12570d ago

Nintendo made out like bandits with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's the same game that was on the WiiU except they added 2 item boxes like in double dash.

kevco3370d ago

It's the Capcom method:

1. Add a new word to the end of the title and features that should've been expected first time around.
2. Charge full price for it.
3. Profit.

gold_drake69d ago

this is why i always say that Nintendo will always be fine. look at those numbers lol

and those are all first party games.
