Awesome.

I can´t wait for all the details, specs and features for next gen consoles to be revealed.

Besides teraflops, memory and clock speeds, I hope those consoles to have different, innovative, unique proprietary features and technology.

Genkins1941d ago

even when games are not innovative on other platforms they are still praised.
plenty of remakes this gen have generated lots of praise. i'm up for a few good remakes.

CaptainCook1941d ago (Edited 1941d ago )

That doesn't make sense.

Donnie811941d ago

Give us a list of truly innovative exclusives released by other companies this generation. You might want to look up the definition to innovative before you make your list to. Because if not I’m gonna tear your answers apart. I can tell you this generation not many games have been really innovative

DOMination-1941d ago

I really miss the days of Xbox and PS2 when there were plenty of third party exclusives on both consoles. Now it seems we are lucky to get three a year, even less if it's Microsoft.

andydalum1941d ago

Now sure where you got confused by his comment but i'll explain. Innovative means something new but what he is saying is that a remake can still be just as good as a new game that innovates. I also hope some of these studios MS bought will deliver good exclusives. I think we are a couple years off before any AAA from them since i'm sure that those studios had things in the works already.

I expect most games will start taking advantage of deep machine learning tech in the next few years. I've tested DLSS with Shadow of the Tomb Raider on my PC and it does give a 10 to 15 FPS boost in performance. I'd expect to see machine learning as well as ray tracing to be a focus when AMD launches their next group of GPUs.

MarkyMark891941d ago

Good luck with that, AMD can’t even handle basic firmware updates to current GPU’s . They are just to focused on the CPU market and rightfully soo, they are kicking Intels ass and don’t have much answers for Nvidia at this time. Last 3 GPU’s have all been overhyped then on release they undelivered.. Amd CPU Nvidia GPU ftw

Father__Merrin1941d ago

The equivalent AMD cards are beating out the equivalent Nvidia cards apart from the 2080 series

RazzerRedux1941d ago

@MarkyMark89

Good luck with what? Nothing you said had anything to do with ML or Ray tracing. I agree AMD cpu with Nvidia GPU is the way to go though.

@Father_Merrin

2070 Super still outperforms 5700 XT albeit at a higher price point. AMD still cannot match Nvidia overall in performance. They are still fighting the value battle.

Fishy Fingers1941d ago (Edited 1941d ago )

AMD doesnt provide the software, just hardware, so the age old driver argument is moot when it comes to AMD drivers in consoles

MarkyMark891941d ago (Edited 1941d ago )

@Father__Merrin
People are only saving $50-$100 on average and losing out on a bunch of features due to AMD just lacking in that department. Anybody with their own checking account is not buying AMD GPU's it's that simple.. Lol most are running 10 series cards patiently waiting for 30 series to drop, due to price to performance on the current RTX line of cards..... Also, I didn't mention anything about Ray Tracing or ML because AMD has nothing concrete, its all pipeline shit while Nvidia actually has all these features working in the real world, currently. I mean look at the Radeon 7, the card was touted as the 2080 killer, it took 2 years, countless driver updates and specific game titles just to beat its performance... All while only saving you $100 and giving you a free space heater at launch, if you look around the internet, most people hate their purchase of the card. I don't pick sides, but I also don't have to budget build so it's different for everybody...AMD GPU's appeals to the market who has a budget. I will admit their budget beats out Nvidia any day of the week, but that just shows in the market share. AMD controls the budget GPU side and Nvidia controls the rest.

@Fishy Fingers
I have a powerhouse PC, with a pending GPU update this year if Nvidia decides to release 30 series cards. So, in all honesty, I could care less about an Xbox Series X or PS5. Mainly just hoping people like @RazzerRedux don't get their hopes up because AMD will constantly let you down on the GPU side of things.

RazzerRedux1941d ago

"@RazzerRedux don't get their hopes up because AMD will constantly let you down on the GPU side of things."

Dude....stop trying to turn this into a AMD/Nvidia fight. This discussion isn't about that at all.

Zeref1935d ago

they're working very closely with MS, MS has been a big part of their recent success

It's like cloud computing, but with ML's! THE POWER OF ML'S!!! YEAH!

King_Noctis1941d ago (Edited 1941d ago )

How are both techs in anyway remotely similar?

1941d ago
frostypants1941d ago

They're just poking fun at MS track record with advanced software concepts.

sprinterboy1941d ago

Here we go again,the power of the cloud, I mean directML

RazzerRedux1941d ago

Unlike the bogus cloud claims, this has real world applications in gaming and many games will be using it. The article wants to focus on DirectML, but deep machine learning is not proprietary to Microsoft at all. It is just their name for something the industry as a whole will be utilizing.

sprinterboy1941d ago

Just winding you xbots up buddy haha, directML will be useful and cool dude.
and yes Sony will have something simlar

Zeref1935d ago

except the cloud wasn't bogus. Look at Flight Simulator.

RazzerRedux1935d ago

Obviously I'm talking about the claims that cloud could supplement local hardware processing for Xbox One and mitigate its power shortcomings. That was bullshit.

Flight Simulator isn't using cloud in that way and is a totally different use case.

yomfweeee1941d ago

Microsoft revolutionized gaming twice this gen (Cloud and DX12) if we believe their mouthpieces... yet we know what really happened.... nothing.

Gunstar751941d ago

Is xcloud nothing? Seems pretty real to me and pretty good as well

BeOpenMinded1941d ago

Didn't really believe it myself until I played atlas with my friend on his phone when he was on road trucking. I thought it it would be half baked but it's much farther along than we think.. or I actually thought.

kneon1941d ago

xcloud is completely unrelated to how they initially talked up their use of cloud computing in gaming.

Playdead co-founder slammed with lawsuit as bitter row with co-founder escalates

Playdead co-founder Dino Patti is allegedly being sued by his former studio and business partner.
Patti was threatened with a lawsuit earlier this year after he posted a now-deleted LinkedIn post that shared an "unauthorized" picture of co-founder Arnt Jensen and discussed some of Limbo's development. Patti said Jensen demanded a little over $73,000 in "suitable compensation and reimbursement," adding that he had "repeatedly" had such letters over the last nine years.
