PSBeyond writes:

"...rumors are pouring in that Sony, enjoying the success of MM's LittleBigPlanet, has just offered them an exclusive 3 game contract and the guys over at Media Molecule have graciously accepted. Edit: Haha. Lol! I thought the title said "Microsoft signs Media Molecule..." That would be insane

This should not be a suprise.Sony are known to sign game companys if they make a quality game. And LBP is quality so sony will obviously give them a contract.

I wish i was a game dev... :(

Part of me sometimes wishes that LPB become something like Paper Mario 2 in which you can switch it to the 3D plane, if that make sense.

Bodhi3675d ago (Edited 3674d ago )

Bravo for Media Molecule, but somehow I think LBP was a fluke. I think that was just wishful thinking as Media Molecule was a nobody up until now.

Bravo Media Molecule, until Media Molecule's second game is proven to be awesome as well, no bravo for Sony... yet.

I'd like everyone to know that I do own a PS3, LittleBigPlanet, Two Dualshock 3 controllers and I do like playing LittleBigPlanet when my girlfriend or my buddies are around.

Thought I'd add this to prevent a flame war.

ThanatosDMC3674d ago

Chances are the game will sell later whenever it drops in price. If it was aimed for the casual crowd then the casual crowd wont pay $64.94 for the game. Maybe when it drops to the 20s or 30s.

Damphear3674d ago

lbp wastna fluke. this game just went over peoples heads. alot of people that are smart and like to build things went ape sh!t on game and made some pretty amazing levels. but i've never had a game where i demanded people to play with me so i could beat a level. mm made somthing magic here and it well take time for people start using there heads

StephanieBBB3674d ago (Edited 3674d ago )

The only problem is that some people doesn't have a head to use or more like lack the creativity and LBP is definetly not catered to them. So in that way LBP looses audience.

But on a second note LBP is getting some crazy commercialising here in europe. Just check this out: This is the site of the TV channel 6 here in sweden. I went and checked and it turns out that even channel 3 has it too. Those two are the biggest ones if you don't count MTV.

Sony is finally doing thier thing with commercialising.

memots3674d ago

but but but .... All Teh FanBoyz of de triii6tizz saying it failesssZ and market [email protected] are showing it doesn't sellZ well ..

what does that tell you .. 3 articles by fanboys on n4F about how much Lbp didn't sell and how its disapointing and how much its over moderated BLA BLA ect ect ect ...

Give me a break. Only Sony and Media molecule can tell if a game is a hit or not. And Sony signing Media molecule for 3 games is proof.

Itrguy0013674d ago

u must be close to being blind cause how can u mistake an S with M?

NickIni3674d ago

It's unlikely Sony would sign a 3 game contract without seeing what their buying. LBP 2 + two other games methinks/hopes.

smart move if its true.

badz1493675d ago

the move of this kind is what encourage more and more indie dev to invest in next gen gaming. I personally believe that there are tons of fresh gaming ideas from the indie community but we probably never had the chance to see them materialised because of the cost they have to bear to develop the game. but with Sony, one of the big players in this industry giving the insentives for indie dev like Mm to develop games for them, we got to see rare gems like LBP storming into the gaming world with lots and lots of suprise not yet seen in any games before it! It's really a gamble on Sony's part but I think it's for the best. I can't say it paid off in term of sales just yet because LBP was just being released but I personally believe that LBP will do very very well for a new IP with the freshest idea in this HD generation! We can only hope for the big and developed devs and publishers like EA, Activision, Ubisoft etc. come with this kind of idea because they are simply sticking themselves to the proven formula and as the result, we got to play similar kind of games with lots and lots of sequels/prequels!

LBP is AWESOME!! props to Mm and Sony!

SL1M DADDY3674d ago

We who have played LBP can agree it is indeed a smart move. This game is a pure gem and will be going strong for years. Heck, it's only two or three weeks out and they have announced over 80 thousand levels have been uploaded. That's a ton of play time!

That's a sensible move. No reason why you wouldn't secure the talents of an indie developer who have one of the highest rated games this gen.

Edit: I also just realised, if this is true, Sony are opening the wallet to secure exclusive games...

They`ve been 'hawkin' your bubbles.

Help Pirate Thom out he deserves 10.

Harry1903675d ago

Eagle21 or whatever was his username anyway? Haven't seen him for a long long time. Dora, what's up?

HighDefinition3675d ago (Edited 3675d ago )

I wish they allowed the name change still. I use to change my name weekly. I got stuck on HD by accident, but I ended up liking it.

Where the f**k is Eagle21? I haven`t seen that guy in a while. I miss some of the "older" members.

edit: where are YOUR bubbles.

Damn, what the hell is going on around here lately?

Bodhi3674d ago

Right now, it's practically a war on N4G. Examples?

Now, fanboys can't resist that can they? It's Fanboy's Law and it's Fanboy's Anatomy that hampers their abilities to be reasonable.

Some people might run in the fray and try and even things out with sensible reasoning but that ends up with debubblizations. Everyone should probably conform to one side or stay out of it.

lordgodalming3674d ago

I know this is slightly off topic, but not really since this has become another love/hate article for a given console. I'm fairly new to this site (I joined as a Gamer Zone poster, incorrectly believing that there would really be a free exchange of ideas--now the only difference between this and the Open Zone is that the OZ is usually emptier), and I'm trying to figure out exactly what's happened to N4G even since I joined a few months ago. Has N4G just fallen to the natural current order of divisiveness, or was there some kind of willful invasion?

Thanks for posting. It's great to hear some sane voices.
