I got those spooky Halloween vibes too. Probably my favorite aspect of Medievil.

Yells "low budget", unfortunately.
I'd say it looks worse than best platformers on x360. A bit better lighting and postprocess effects, but the graphics itself - at times it reminds me PS2/Xbox era. Not a good thing.

Graphics are important but they are the least important aspect of a game. As long as they get everything else close enough to proper, these graphics will be fine.

To me, looking at interesting worlds is the half of joy I get from this game genre.
And the rest, besides the graphics don't strike me as very high quality either.
It looks rather generic.

I'd be OK with all that if there was nothing, but we got a few decent platformers on PC recently and titles like Psychonauts 2 are on the horizon.

Well. Maybe when it's on some sale for dirt cheap, I'll give it a try. I like the idea of making it a bit spooky and Medievil-like.
