With loot boxes starting to make more money than the games themselves, there's little reason to believe that this controversial business practice will slow down anytime soon.
I'd love for loot boxes to be banned, but I don't think that's realistic. On the other hand, when children are being coerced into purchasing them, that crosses a line for me. I would personally draw the line well before that, but if the law were to draw one, I would say the governments of various countries should at least forbid the selling of loot boxes to minors.
I think that's where we're headed eventually, with a couple of countries already banning them altogether, but it will probably take a few more years until we see any major changes.
