Hands-on with People Can Fly’s next-gen debut, Outriders
Polygon says it's good, count me out!
Dang it, I came in here to say the same thing, lol.
I know a few people who had hands on with it and they its pretty good. Square Enix flew my next door Neighbor out to play the game and he said to me "The Division Series and the Destiny Series better get their act together." He said the dev team working on the game has learned from all of Ubisoft and Bungie's mistakes.
But it is easy to say that, with any of these games, by just playing the campaign let alone an hour or so... It is the live service and end game content/grind and loot that needs experienced to give any judgment at all. These game are VERY easy to pull the wool over the eyes, cash in on release, then act like pouty babies getting picked on because the game absolutely sucks per its intent. See anthem. See destiny 2 Sea of thieves etc... The roll of the dice is if the developers will actually support the game and make improvements
Everyone i know and most articles I have read say it's more like what Anthem should've been out the gate, not a destiny style game. Even Paul tasso from Forbes says this games biggest competition won't be destiny, but instead it'll be the division, Anthem (after the rework), and borderlands
@GrandadSaladin I dont care who you know. Even Arekkz Gaming who the Dev Team also let play the game earlier agree's. He also was flown out to Holland to play the game. All you have to do is look at this video and see it even looks similar to Destiny. https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Great idea, try to compete with a behemoth game like Destiny, made by the people who pioneered console shooters. #GoodLuck
Why not try at least? That said, another looter shooter??
Why not just do something original?
A destiny style shooter? Do these developers not know that destiny isn't the game you should strive for?
Bulletstorm is a really fun game with wacky weapons, I'd say give this a chance.
They are nothing alike.
The devs didn't say that, stupid Polygon did.
Do companies purposely shit out the most generic games they can think of when it comes to next generation releases? Jesus...
This game isnt modeled after Bulletstorm. It is another looter shooter.
From having previewed Outriders, the weapons themselves aren't very wacky. They're the safe SMG/pistol/shotgun/etc variants but it's the class powers that make it feel unique.
i personally am happy to see a game like this since i like gears of war but don't want to buy an xbox. So this should tide me over nicely. Although hearing polygon compare this to the crap destiny series kind of doesn't make me all that happy. I'm expecting way more content for my 60 dollars than what destiny usually provides. I'll have to take a wait and see approach to this game to find out.
It looks shite.
So this generic crap rather than Bulletstorm 2 or hell anything single player. Another Gaas. You can take Gass and blow it out your ass.
Fully agree on the generic aspect but apparently this game is supposed to be campaign-focused and will not utilize the GAAS model. That being said, this game sounds/looks like a hard pass for me until convinced otherwise.
Looks good, can't wait to play it
Can't trust a word that comes out of Polygon. I'm going to have to wait for a consensus from fellow gamers and sites that I trust.
Oh god another "looter shooter" this is one genre I'd be completely fine with being left in this generation.
Ya no thanks!
“Bullet storm devs” “Destiny style shooter” Nope sorry no way I’m hell.
Not even close to Destiny style. Why is it that everyone sees Destiny in every shooter looter that comes out these days? It is much closer to Gears and Anthem than Destiny in terms of gameplay.
looks like anthem combat, and no pvp.
I'll stick to DESTINY, thanks! 💯
I know one thing for sure....it looked very average.
Bulletstorm was grossly underappreciated and one of the more satisfying and original FPS's of the last ten years in terms of mechanics. I'm actually kinda interested to see what they do here.
So it's going to be mildly entertaining for about 20 hours? Way to aim high.
This is one of the only reasons I have any bit of interest in Godfall, it's not another sci-fi looter shooter. We need way more than just sci-fi looter shooters. There's so much fantasy to explore let alone dark modern concepts that don't involve other planets, aliens, or foreign worlds in the distant future. Give me a Cthulhu-esque setting in a modern world where we mix modern weapons with magic or something.
I love the gameplay style, there is just a huge lack of content in these types of games.... Destiny felt so limiting, but the controls were super smooth.
