PS4 should have its price reduced to appeal to the budget market

TheCaptainKuchiki52d ago (Edited 52d ago )

It doesn't need to. Back when DS and PS2 existed, there was no such thing as PS+. Subscription services are extremely profitable and bring in billions every years. The PS4 can sell less than the DS while outearning it. A manufacturer doesn't care about how many systems it sells, they care about profit. And consoles hardware are the least profitable piece of the whole ecosystem.
Besides the DS had sold 900 million games by 2012 (8 years after release) while the PS4 already sold 1.181 billion games (6,5 years after release). We all know that after subscriptions, games are the most profitable thing.

Have you seen PS4 sales dropping? Sony could easily curb that by having a price cut. No reason a 7 year old console should still be $300
