Do you have proof that the code was from the Infamous games?

I tried to find that information but all I saw was that both Spiderman and Infamous were built with Maya however neither of the developers created Maya to begin with. It's a 3D software development tool like Unreal Engine. That doesn't mean Spiderman was built with code from the Infamous games.

I would really love to read about what you said though.

In another case I feel that Far Cry series, Ghost Recon Wildlands, and Assassin's Creed series were built in same codes or maps. They are called assets. Building a game from scratch needs a lot of time. That's why they could be released annually.

I do expect Insomniac to use assets from Spiderman in Spiderman 2. But Infamous isn't even made by them so I doubt they would use assets from a different franchise from code that they don't even own.

What he said isn't an opinion though. He's making claims that Insomniac will copy code over from the Infamous franchise into their next Spiderman game.

You do know who makes Infamous right?

And you also know that Insomniac made the first Spiderman game. If they reuse assets it will probably be from that game and not Infamous Second Son which BTW was a launch window game for the PS4.

There is a difference between opinions and claims. He is trying to berate and tarnish the reputation of a company that sweated and earned their reputation through hard work and delivery. There is a difference between having an opinion and raising false testimonies. Defamation and libel are clearly stated as a legal offence. Moreover, he is spreading misinformation. Accusing someone of plagiarism and possession of copyright material as source coding is more than just an opinion when he does it without evidence.

Sometimes it's necessary to do that. Because I've dealt with posters that hurt other people's feelings with their racism and they deserve to be banned for it.

But I do agree that in this case a ban would be a very harsh punishment and probably isn't necessary to be honest.

how is this a troll comment, when I played spiderman I instantly got the vibe of infamous from it and being the same dev it felt like some of the same assets have been used. Why call for a ban because you don't like a comment, why not just discuss it and express your own thoughts?

inFamous was Sucker Punch. The guys who made Sly Cooper and are now making Ghost of Tsushima. Insomniac made Resistance, the original Spyro trilogy, and Ratchet & Clank.

I mean, it's not like they had code from SSoD to reuse. All devs reuse code from prior games if it fits into the game. No reason to reinvent the wheel every time. You think MS makes Forza fresh each time? No, they improve what's there, update assets, and adjust code to handle any new things or changes needed to make the game possible.
