Ownership over the marketing of the Call of Duty franchise might not be quite as important as it was at the beginning of the PlayStation 4 generation, but it's still something worth having under your belt. Games should succeed and fail on their own based on quality not hype and marketing.
It's kinda irrelevant for Microsoft to market Call of Duty this year when they have Halo Infinity releasing on the same day as Xbox Series X.
This marketing deal is not as big as it use to be. Call of Duty sells equally good on both consoles.
