No real reason, it is bad CEOs and managers influence that delay the games as usual for other games and then changing engines and redoing what makes FFXIII one of worst FF and the same reason what makes XV so shallow.

No CEO or manager is going to willingly change a game engine or redo stuff mid-development. If anything they drive to use the junk that was created and fight against the move because it is costly. I am in business software development and there is tons of pressure to develop as cheaply as possible. changing anything mid-development is a cost nightmare.

One thing for certain though is that they did not focus on pointing the right features and content into the game. Management and CEOs can be faulted for that.

While all what you said is absolutely correct. However, in SE case they did this multiples time. In FFXIII the main engine was named crystal or something like that, but they ended up changing a lot of assists and later the reason was incapable developers and choosing to release it on X360. That caused delays on Nomura murdered child Versus XIII. Which suffered from delaying and postponing it process for sake of XIII trilogy and XIV. In the end when he got greenlight they asked him to change the engine and in few months they pulled him, and destroyed Versus XIII by handed it to Tabata, who is responsible also for wasting Type 0 potentials.

I pray every day that Nomura is fired and punished for using Disney characters in his insulting plot-hole driven mess of a franchise. It is disgusting. We deserve good games with licensed characters. All they had to do was make a Final Fantasy with Disney characters but no. Try to write your own garbage villains teleporting all over the place trying to communicate while speaking nonsense. God damn, I'll never get over it. Fire him, sue him.

Because everything was cut. This game is only a shell of the previous two installments. Complete letdown.

Bleucrunch1981d ago

Square Enix ruined that franchise to its death, Kingdom Hearts 3 released and was summarily forgotten....Square Enix is not the powerhouse it used to be....a shell of its former self.

They had one of the highest rated games on metacritic of last year in Shadowbringers. There is certainly a lot of room for improvement but they are still doing great things.

I mean if we’re talking Squaresoft, then yea, they are nowhere near as amazing as they once was. As soon as the Enix merger happened There wasn’t really the same feel to their games as before. It’s obviously due to losing much of their talent.

People were non stop talking about the DLC coming out. KH3 has been doing fine overall buddy

If that is true then it sounds like it would be more substantial than just Ultimate Deluxe plus a few new characters.
