Can they make a mod to delete soul memory? Or a mod to make ds2 not suck?

Fluttershy771916d ago

I certainly wish they would make a mod to change the game physics, the worst aspect of the entire game is a certain "floatiness" of the characters... I also hate how uninspired the lore of the game is, even when you are calling it Dark Souls 2, they could have made a whole new thing... Well the whole thing was quite uninspired really (the world, the character designs, the weapons, etc...); Fromsoft "A" team was probably working on Bloodborne at the time (none of these problems I described applied to Bloodborne or Sekiro really... I haven't played Dark Souls 3 yet I hated 2 that much... I will this year

Bloodborne was the priority while DS2 the cash grab was being made to satisfy Bandai Namco the Japanese EA.
Now Demon Souls Remake/Bloodborne II are prioritized while Elder Ring is being made for Bandai Namco lmao.

Can anyone guess why they didn't make DS2 for PS4 look like the preview. The PS4 could absolutely handle the increased graphics but they still didnt do it...why?

Skate-AK1916d ago (Edited 1916d ago )

Guessing the engine couldn't do it at the time. They added in pretty stuff with a limited amount of the game world built. Finished it up and the performance wasn't acceptable. All their games have had some kind of framerate issue with the frametime spikes. Haven't played Sekiro yet so maybe that has been fixed.

Just remembered the PS4 version was 60FPS too. Could also be a reason.

Man, I dunno about that. In fact, most boss fights in Dark Souls 2 were forgettable.

The game isn't good though.

DS2 was fine. While there was a bit of recycling assets or ideas for bosses, it was a bigger more open Dark Souls. The Fume knight boss is one of the hardest bosses in the series until Sekiro and Elden Ring were released.

The problem with Dark Souls 2 was the same problem when a different director takes over for a sequel to an outstanding movie. It typically (there are exceptions) doesn’t have the feel and vision of the previous movie.

I wouldn’t say Dark Souls 2 is terrible. Had Dark Souls 1 never been a thing and we got this, I think it would have been praised more. The problem is it didn’t have the Miyazaki touch to it and felt pretty derivative. The soundtrack is a banger though.

And it will happen in the future when he doesn’t touch them as he is planning on.

MrBaskerville422d ago

I like DS 2, might even be my favorite of the 3. But it's a hard sell, there's so many obscure things you need to do to make it an enjoyable experience. So always find it hard to recommend, but it is worth the trouble.
