Resident Evil 3 Remake will be more action-oriented than Resident Evil 2, but that doesn't mean the game won't be a survival-horror title.
Wasn’t the original action oriented?
Indeed it was
It was, and even more so RE4, but people hear "action-oriented" and immediately leap to "It's not survival horror anymore! RE6 all over again!" and whatnot.
It was in comparison to the first two games but nothing like 4 and after. 3 just features more zombies on screen and more ammo. Let's hope thats all it is because it's anything like 3make ends up like RE4, 5 and 6 there's going to be a lot of pissed off fans.
I was using an assault rifle on zombie hordes in the original. I feel like Resident Evil has alway progressed into action. What really separates the originals from the modern ones were the obtuse puzzle solving, backtracking, really taking a single kind of environment and slowly opening it up. Had the modern ones pulled off that I think they'd have been better received by older fans. It's part of the reason i liked RE7 much more than 4,5, and 6.
I don't need a journalist to tell me if it's a good thing or not. I'll find out by playing the game myself. We'll see soon enough.
From what i remember it's pretty much survival horror especially when you have a dam beast named nemesis chasing you throughout the whole game, dont really remember much though, it might have been a little more action than 1 and 2
Code veronica was even more survival horror than RE2, more creepier and a lot harder, really hoping they remake that one eventually, but first dino crisis needs some love.
