A free update is the best scenario. This is just customers paying for a more complete game.

execution171572d ago

Although I enjoyed the game... it kind of felt half done since all the interesting stuff the champion got to do and you just had to do gym badges

A free update should be mandatory, you cant release a game

1. With less content then previous entries
2. More than half of all Pokemon cut (While also lying about doing so)
3. Graphically one of the worst games on the Switch
4. Is very poorly optimized with many technical issues
5. Overall lack of polish across the board in terms or presentation and quality (Pop in, animations, ect)
6. Flaws that should never make it into a game, like the cut-scenes where you can literally see a computer mouse moving on screen.

All of this, from a game made for the HIGHEST GROSSING MEDIA FRANCHISE OF ALL TIME, which just so happens to now cost $60! Almost double the price of the old games!

Now instead of righting the wrongs they've already done, they SELL us the INTENTIONALLY cut Pokemon in their DLC. Yeah apologists stop now, I already know what you're going to say

"tEh PekeMaaWN arE FRee In TeH UpdaTE yUO juZT NeeD to TrADE foR thEm"

How ignorant can you be? That's not free, that's like saying Netflix is free because you're mooching off someone else's account. It's just someone else buying them instead of you.

Now yes, it actually does look like there is a lot of content coming in these two packs, at first I was thinking it's a little over half of the amount of content the original games had, but honestly the more I look at it, i think it's even more than that, two packs, each with their own new areas and wild areas, each with their own story, and each with their own new legendaries, along with 200+ intentionally cut and held back old Pokemon, that is actually A LOT of content, seriously.

Now how is it, they can make well over half the amount of content the original game had... IN LESS THAN A YEAR?! Does that mean Sword and Shield were made in just a year and a half? Well no, we know they were in development for MUCH longer... what does this actually mean?

Well we now know that they intentionally cut Pokemon for the sole purpose of selling them in later DLC, that is an indisputable 100% fact. So would it really be that crazy to think they held back all/most of this content to release as DLC? Not even a little bit.

King_Noctis1572d ago

But the game will get free updates and you can get the additional Pokemon without even paying a single cent through other means. The only thing that are locked is the two new regions and their story.

If you think you should be given that for free, then quite frankly you are a bit entitled.

Sono4211572d ago (Edited 1572d ago )

Someone being upset about them intentionally holding back content just to sell us later as DLC is completely logical, not entitlement.

You apologists throw that word out like it's your word of the day everyday, just because you continue to call legitimate criticism "entitlement" doesn't make it so, not even a little bit.

Also your argument about not paying a single cent is illogical, that's like saying Netflix is free because you mooch off of a friend, no, it isn't, your friend just ends up being the one paying instead of you, either way, someone is paying to get those old Pokemon.

King_Noctis1571d ago

“ Someone being upset about them intentionally holding back content just to sell us later as DLC is completely logical, not entitlement. ”

Did people rage over Spiderman getting additional contents? The Witcher 3? Forza Horizon 4? And countless other games?

“ either way, someone is paying to get those old Pokemon.”

You do know you can use Pokemon Bank to transfer those old Pokemon into Sword and Shield right?

Scroticus1571d ago

Witcher 3, Forza, Spiderman, and countless other games weren't half-baked empty shells, though. SwSh pretty much were.

“ Witcher 3, Forza, Spiderman, and countless other games weren't half-baked empty shells, though. SwSh pretty much were.”

Beside the missing Pokemon, which feature was cut from this game that make it “ half-baked empty shells” ?

I’d rather wait for the third game where it’s full to the brim with new content and stuff from both games

Tewi-Inaba1572d ago

They quite literally explained that they'll be doing this from now on instead of a third version.

FadedWolf131572d ago

Just wait til they release a game with all of them if ever. Seriously Nintendo and game freak has always had shitty consumer friendly business tactics

King_Noctis1572d ago

You’re right. That why they release GasS games after GasS games filled to the brim with lootboxes and MTs.

What a sh*tty company.

King_Noctis1572d ago (Edited 1572d ago )

So instead of paying less for the expansion pass, you’d rather pay more for a brand new game.

What a great logic. Did you wait for complete versions of other Nintendo games with expansion passes such as BOTW, Splatoon, and Xenoblade 2?

Elronza1572d ago

No just no this is far removed from the best scenario! Proves why these games were released half assed and lacking most of the pokedex. Gamefreak gon nickel and dime you. They turned a $40 game into a $90 game, and the blind fans will pay it smfh! Wow you blind fans just love that straight dick and no bootylube Gamefreak keeps giving you!

Domestupidname1572d ago

Save your breath. People on here just want to cry and whine. "We have to pay for content WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"

FadedWolf131572d ago

Just like you keep whining people are criticizing your precious digital monsters collector game. They half ass a game when other switch games have blown them out of the water in quality I'm not even a big nintendo fan and realize the lack of fucks given they shit out pokemon y'all buy it. I'm not buying this shot until they make a quality pokemon game on par with Mario odyssey

Domestupidname1572d ago

Criticize it all you want. Your criticism is crap and the goalposts keep shifting so you can keep being entitled, whiny brats. Sword and Shield are good games, a huge step in the right direction, and set to get sizable expansions for the near future.

Keep crying.

Sono4211572d ago

I think you are the saddest apologist I've seen yet, if you truly think Sword and Shield are a step in the right direction you deserve to be scammed.

GameFreak/Nintendo are lucky to have such gullible cash cows such as yourself to just give money to them, hey you should just start having all your checks get deposited straight into Nintendo's bank account.

TheGamez1001572d ago

Just like how capcom finally just went with expansions for monster hunter, pokemon does the same. Now if only persona could...

MeteorPanda1572d ago (Edited 1572d ago )

G rank has always been a separate game. First time they made it a xpac is because they finally could. You think psp and 3ds could support an xpac? They did what they could with the file transfers.
